ElloNT for House Re-Election

Hello! My name is ElloNT, and I’m seeking re-election once again to the House of Representatives. This term has been a great one, and my speech will go over what I’ve done this term and my plans for the next term. I hope I can earn your vote, and your support in this election.

Here are some of my current and former positions:

  • DOC Sergeant
  • DOC:MD Seamen First Class
  • DOJ Public Defender
  • Former DOC:SERT Specialist
  • Former DoCM Chief Inspector
  • Former DOJ Assistant State ATtorney

Let’s start with a reflection on what I’ve done this term. In my speech last term, my goals were to create a link for the public to get involved in congress and create legislation with this idea. Unfortunately, I realized that this wasn’t a very good idea. I was planning to make a stream where citizens can come on the stream, and talk about what legislative ideas they wanted to be written, and if I deemed it good, I would write the legislation live. I did not do this this term, but I think I’ve made for it.

My next goals were to ensure that our criminal code was perfect, and tackling any legislation problems that come at us. I think I’ve fulfilled this goal this term, with the legislation I wrote and got passed. I think I’ve also fulfilled it with my position in the CAC. I’m the chairman of the CAC, and hope to continue to provide a link between the County and state government. I’ve reached out to LEOs, criminals, and all in between to see what they wanted done in Congress, and responded to needs for legislation to be written.

Legislation that I wrote, and got passed:
An Amendment to C.IV.VII (to ensure that the senate can nullify and must ratify any foreign agreement)
An Emergency Amendment (fixing an urgent problem in the criminal code)
A Bill to Further Protect DOC (R) (making the DOC waters illegal to swim in with the old trespassing/loitering bill)
Expulsion of Representative CaesarMaximian (expelling a representative who altered witness testimony)
An Amendment to Establish Security in DOC (letting DOC search anyone in their custody)
Government Property Protection Act (with some help from Sharkfish82, redid the entire trespassing and loitering law so it’s better for FNG, DOC, and DHS)

I also wrote many pieces of legislation that failed. Some of which include:
A Bill to Help Law Enforcement Officers (R) (loosening restrictions on BOR.I to help LEOs)
An Amendment to Combat Organized Crime (quick fix on the Salvatore/organised crime issue, the RICO act was a better fix)
An Amendment to C.III.XII (increasing the minimum jury count)
An Amendment to C.I.I (R) (attempting to lower the amount of congressional seats)
A Bill to Combat Rammers (trying to stop rammers and increase the punishment for them)

Most of these bills tried to resolve problems that the public was concerned about, but these problems weren’t really up to Congress to fix. I’ve learned from these mistakes, which has taught me to write more quality legislation.

These bills are currently on the docket right now, and I’m confident it will pass.
An Amendment to Protect Businesses (making impersonating businesses illegal)
An Amendment to Allow the County to Control Wages (R) (county can control wages for departments under their control)
An Amendment to Help SCFD (county controls SCFD trespassing, they have a much more comprehensive bill)

My plans for next term are:

  • Continue my chairman position of CAC, and keep it to the quality and activity as it was under Clonemep.
  • Continue writing legislation to help our law enforcement officers, making the game enjoyable for everyone.
  • Maybe more standing rules/congressional procedures for our congress…? Similar to other states.
  • Tackle any legislative problems that come at us.

I’ve shown that I can listen to the public. I’ve shown that I can implement ideas from the public. I’ve shown that I can get things done. I hope I’ve shown you, in this speech, that I deserve a spot in the House of Representatives.

Thank you for reading my speech, and as always, my DM’s are open for any of your questions, comments, and concerns.

Signed,
ElloNT
