An Amendment to C.IV.VII

BE IT ENACTED BY THE STATE OF FIRESTONE CONGRESS HERE ASSEMBLED THAT:

SECTION 1: Article IV, Section VII of the Constitution shall be amended.

SECTION 2: Article IV, Section VII of the Constitution currently states, “The Secretary of State shall have the ability to establish treaties with foreign nations, entities and other groups. Whereas in absence of the Secretary of State, the Governor shall have the ability to establish treaties with foreign nations, with foreign nations, entities and other groups. The Firestone State Senate shall have the power to nullify a treaty for a plausible reason and a supermajority (2⁄3) of the present Senate concur with nullification. The Governor must sign the treaty before confirmation of the treaty by the Senate with (2⁄3) supermajority vote.”

SECTION 3: Article IV, Section VII shall now state, “The Secretary of State shall have the ability to establish treaties and formal agreements with foreign nations, entities and other groups. Whereas in absence of the Secretary of State, the Governor shall have the ability to establish treaties and formal agreements with foreign nations, with foreign nations, entities and other groups. The Firestone State Senate shall have the power to nullify a treaty or formal agreement for a plausible reason and a supermajority (⅔) of the present Senate concur with nullification. The treaty or formal agreement shall go into effect after the Governor has sign the treaty or formal agreement and ratification of the treaty or formal agreement by the Senate with (⅔) supermajority vote.

SECTION 4: This legislation shall be enforced by the Firestone State Senate, the Governor, and the Secretary of State, and shall go into effect immidiately after completing the constitutional procedure required.
