An Amendment to Reassess Civil Suit Repercussions

AN AMENDMENT
TO REASSESS
CIVIL SUIT REPERCUSSIONS

BE IT DULY ENACTED BY THE STATE OF FIRESTONE CONGRESS, HEREIN BE DOCKETED AND PRESCRIBED AS:

PREAMBLE: This piece of legislation shall, inherently, amend “A Bill to Combat Ineffective Law Enforcement” due to it ruthlessly shattering the progression and admirations of our officers. Our officers are hesitating on every patrol that they may face a civil suit involving a violation of one’s rights, which per the piece as mentioned above of legislation if found guilty of such violation means revocation of their POST certification. It merely is a miscarriage of justice. Therefore, we find it right to reassess and amend this to give a chance of an opportunity to unfortunate law enforcement personnel.

SECTION 1: “A Bill to Combat Ineffective Law Enforcement” shall be amended. (A Bill to Combat Ineffective Law Enforcement)

SECTION 2A: Section 2 of “A Bill to Combat Ineffective Law Enforcement” shall be amended to state: “Should a law enforcement officer be convicted of any felony, their POST Certification shall be revoked through a proper court order.

SECTION 2B: Section 3 of “A Bill to Combat Ineffective Law Enforcement” shall be amended to state: “Should a law enforcement officer be convicted of two misdemeanors, be it one occurrence with two counts or two occurrences with one or more counts, their POST Certification may be revoked at the discretion of the judge through a proper court order.

SECTION 2C: Section 4 of “A Bill to Combat Ineffective Law Enforcement” shall be amended to state: “Should a law enforcement officer be convicted of false arrest, their POST Certification may be revoked at the discretion of a judge through a proper court order.

SECTION 2D: Section 5 of “A Bill to Combat Ineffective Law Enforcement” shall be amended to state: “Should a law enforcement officer be convicted of violating the rights prescribed to citizens under the constitution, their POST Certification may be revoked at the discretion of a judge through a proper court order.

SECTION 3: Upon the passage of this piece of legislation within both legislative chambers and met with the official signature of the incumbent Governor of the State of Firestone, this amendment shall take immediate effect and be embedded on the original bill.
