State Holiday Recognition and Incentive Act of 2024

BE IT ENACTED BY THE STATE OF FIRESTONE CONGRESS HERE ASSEMBLED THAT

PREAMBLE
As an update/replacement to the State Holiday Recognition Act of 2023, this act of Congress recognizes holidays in addition to those of the United States. As an act of gratitude from the State of Firestone Congress, Firestone State Agents receive an incentive for such employment, as outlined in this document.

[NOTE: Executive Orders in effect upon the passage of this bill, establishing or recognizing state holidays are to remain in effect.]

§1. - EFFECTIVENESS AND SEVERABILITY

(a) This bill shall go into effect, given that it does so through the procedures outlined in the constitution.

(b) Should any part of this bill be declared null, void, or unenforceable, the remaining part(s) of this bill shall remain in full effect unless the entire bill is struck down or declared unenforceable.

(c) Should any part of this bill be declared unconstitutional through due process of law, that part of the bill shall be declared null and void, with the rest of the bill remaining in full effect.

§2. - ENFORCEMENT

(a) This bill shall be enforced by any relevant parties.

§3. - NULLIFICATIONS

(a) The State Holiday Recognition Act of 2023 shall be declared null and void.

§4. - STATE HOLIDAYS

(a) The following dates of the calendar year shall be recognized as state holidays:

  • (i) New Year’s Day - January 1st
    (ii) Founder’s Day - April 1st
    (iii) Memorial Day - Last Monday in the month of May
    (iv) Independence Day - July 4th
    (v) Labor Day - 1st Monday in the month of September
    (vi) Veteran’s Day - November 11th
    (vii) Thanksgiving Day - 4th Thursday in the month of November
    (viii) Christmas Eve - December 24th
    (ix) Christmas Day - December 25th
    (x) New Year’s Eve - December 31st

(b) No business entity within the State of Firestone licensed under the Department of Commerce (DOCM) shall mandate its employees to perform or engage in business-related labor or activities on the dates outlined in §4a.

(c) No department within the State of Firestone shall, under any circumstance, mandate labor or participation from its employees within that specific department on the dates outlined in §4a.

§5. - STATE APPRECIATION WEEKS

To provide an incentive to state and county employees, this section outlines weeks throughout the calendar year that are designated to recognize our servants.

(a) The following shall be recognized as state appreciation weeks:

(i) Law Enforcement Appreciation Week - Starting on the first Sunday of May and lasting for seven (7) calendar days thereafter.
(1) No Law Enforcement department within the State of Firestone shall mandate labor or participation, within that department, from its employees, on the days outlined in §5a.i.

(ii) Public Service Appreciation Week - Starting on the third Sunday of July and lasting for seven (7) calendar days thereafter.
(1) The following departments shall not mandate labor or participation, within that department, from its employees on the days outlined in §5a.ii:

(iii) Fire and EMS Appreciation Week - Starting on the first Sunday of August and lasting for seven (7) calendar days thereafter.
(1) The following departments shall not mandate labor or participation, within that department, from its employees on the days outlined in §5a.iii:

(iv) Academic Appreciation Week - Starting on the first Sunday of October and lasting seven (7) calendar days thereafter.
(1) Legally recognized academies within the State of Firestone shall not mandate labor or participation from its employees within the respective academy on the days outlined in §5a.iv.

§6. - ALTERATIONS

(a) The Governor of the State of Firestone shall hold the ability to amend sections 4 and 5 through an Executive Order or legislative documentation, without the need for passage or approval by Congress.

(b) Congress shall hold the ability to remove, overturn, or veto amendments made by the Governor to this bill through the passage of a Joint Resolution.
