this is down to the LEO’s, there will always be a car that civs have that will outpace all cop cars, even in real life.
if LEO’s were to be more strategic in their patrol and planning for events like pursuits, they would go better. for example, instead of having everyone sit in redwood all day then all having to catch up with a pursuit, maybe have units strategically place themselves throughout the map, like rw res, hillview and prom?

nah, the point of an srt is to be able to outrun cops. without this it will become extremely unbalanced for criminals

a gear or two is way too much, if they need to be balanced, and I say IF. Then, make them go like 105 or 106 or something instead of 110. However I dont think they need to be nerfed in the current state of v2

Yes, chasing SRTs is often frustrating, but that’s part of the fun. Not being able to perfectly do everything is where strategy comes into play. Coordinate with other units to set up roadblocks, spike strips, helicopter support. I do agree that chasing an SRT is sometimes annoying but often times when we try our best and use all our tactics, I’ve found that our pursuits are generally successful. Even if we do lose an SRT, LEOs don’t need to win 100% of the time. Criminals should have fun as well.

The whole reason the SRT is fast is because it’s one of the few advantages criminals have, on top of that, i’m sure there are strategies that departments can develop to combat SRTs.

It seems like a case of the people who have it not wanting rid of it, and the people who don’t wanting rid of it.
I personally think it’s stupid how fast they are. Police cars max out at 104 ish. SRTs (as far as I know) are 110 ish. It gets to the stage where LEOs just don’t even bother chasing SRTs because there is not a chance whatsoever. Even ASU helicopters struggle to keep up with them without having to slow down to get their height back. They need to be slowed down. I’m not saying put them to 100, but at least 105 or something.

Or we could just make all the police cars about 105-108 ish and speed up the helicopters too /shrug

sure the SRTs are fast compared to our cars and it can be a huge pain to chase them when we lose them so fast but its been pretty balanced to be honest. leos have strength in numbers as others have stated, spikes, radios, asu, tire poppers, etc. its just makes it a bit harder for law enforcement to catch them but in the end we still get them even if it takes twenty minutes

Lol, this post has made me laugh, everyone who has commented has good points, as to why SRT’s should keep their speed. I think you are just too lazy to try and attempt to catch them or are unable to communicate with others. There are actually multiple easy tricks you can do, to keep up with an SRT, and then stop it.

at that point everyone needs a SRT to escape, no way of escaping using a mustang, charger, taurus or cybertruck…

I can understand the taurus and regular charger (some variants of the charger irl arent much more powerful if at all over standard hondas or toyotas) but the ct and mustang should be faster.
Edit: Dodge Charger SXT - 292 HP 8 Speed V6. So more powerful than a honda or toyota but still not nearly as powerful as an SRT.

SRTs are mega easy if you actually think while doing a pursuit. When I was an LEO I would catch 9/10 of them by simply driving the opposite way they went.

I do not want SRTs slowed down. we have more then enough tools to stop them.

not entirely true, max speed isn’t the only stat that matters. Cybertruck have an insane acceleration that will get them away from a LEO almost instantly, and anyone with a charger (with good driving) has a fair chance of escaping.
