A Bill to Establish Crosswalks and Jaywalking


BE IT ENACTED BY THE STATE OF FIRESTONE CONGRESS HERE ASSEMBLED THAT:

SECTION 1: Title, Effective Date, and Enforcement

A) This bill shall be known as "A bill to Establish Crosswalks and Jaywalking"

B) This bill shall become effective immediately upon passage from both chambers of the Congress and signed by the Governor.

C) Any person with the ability to cite is permitted to execute this bill.

SECTION 2: Definitions

A) Hereinafter, the word “Crosswalk” shall be defined as; striped white lines on a road which are marked to allow civilians the right of way.

B) Hereinafter, “roadway” shall be defined as; a road.

C) Hereinafter, “Jaywalking” shall be defined as; the act of crossing the roadway while a crosswalk is within 100 (one-hundred) studs.

SECTION 3: Nullifications

A) The following bills shall be declared null and void;
A Bill to Establish Crosswalks and Jaywalking
A Bill to Amend A Bill to Establish Crosswalks and Jaywalking

SECTION 4: Clarifications

A) Crosswalks will allow legal pathways for citizens to be able to cross the road legally and this will allow LEOs to enforce jaywalking.

B) Crosswalks will be made by the Department of Development and will be placed on intersections, traffic circles, and anywhere else where needed.

C) Pedestrians can’t step right out into traffic. Pedestrians must wait until traffic is clear or a signal of right of way for the pedestrian is given. Pedestrians shall not unreasonably impede traffic. Pedestrians may not suddenly leave the curb and walk or run into the path of a vehicle which is so close it is impossible for the driver to yield.

D) Drivers shall yield the right-of-way by slowing down or stopping if need be to yield to a pedestrian crossing within a crosswalk when said pedestrian is upon the half of the road in which the vehicle is traveling or when said pedestrian is approaching so closely from the opposite half of the road as to be in danger.

SECTION 5: Illegalities

A) It shall be illegal for a person to jaywalk as defined in Section 2C and shall be regarded as a misdemeanor.

SECTION 6: Sanctions for Unlawful Actions

A) Any person who is found to be in guilty of jaywalking shall have the penalty of a citation of 50 dollars on their first offense and shall be charged 25 dollars more per violation of this legislation, not exceeding 500 dollars.

B) This section shall no way limit the Judiciary to assign more or less amount of dollars for a citation or assign times in jail for violations defined in this bill should the individual be proven guilty in a court of law.
