72 Hour Jail Time

Hello everyone!

I wrote this forum post regarding the 72 hour maximum jail time. I firmly believe it is an idiotic idea to have those who break laws to spend 72 hours in jail. My reasoning is as follows:

1. Lack of Criminal Activity
The job of Law Enforcement is to enforce the laws. If you do not want to enforce the law, you should resign immediately from your position if you are a LEO. This is similar to applying to a grocery store as a Csshier but hate talking to people. There are only a handful of criminals who still choose to roleplay, providing Law Enforcement Officals with interesting and fun scenes to handle. I find it quite hideous to punish those who are simply playing the game, following the rules, and generally giving Law Enforcement Officials things to do. If you are sending people to jail for 72 hours, or even 24 hours, you are quite literally just banning them from the game for roleplaying. This is not how it works. Firestone already lacks the good role-players who will follow the rules and provide LEOs with situations to handle. I have already personally seen a lack of situations that are enjoyable to handle within the county. This makes it worse.

2. Fail Roleplayers
Now, the main reason why most people probably are choosing to want 72 hours is due to the FRPers. That bacon hair who just rammed the shit out of the SCFD scene? He isn’t going to show up to court, nobody will have the effort to prosecute him. That known criminal who properly role-played a hostage situation and robbed a bank? Yeah, he is being charged with loads of crime and will spend hours on end in jail. The traditional bacon hair or FRPer will NOT be prosecuted by court. These are handled by the Game Moderation team, and should be sent to a game moderator if you find someone who is FRPing with proof.

3. This is a Game
This is a game. It is called ROBLOX. You are sending people to jail for 3 days, in game time, for playing a game. You must be crazy to think that is alright. Sure, punish the criminals, yes. However, it should not go to the point where they’re being harshly punished. Once again, the people who need harsh punishments are those who FRP. They get ahead punishments through Game Moderation as well, when evidence is sent. Those known criminals who just give you a scene to handle should not be punished.

I firmly believe that 72 hours has gone beyond what this game is intended to serve. I strongly urge the Firestone Congress to deeply consider these reasons and make the most rational decision in order to reduce the jail time. While I would much more prefer 1 hour maximum jail time, 24 hours is a good compromise to make. However, anything above 24 hours is just being inconsiderate to the criminal community of this state. Feel free to leave your thoughts below!

tl;dr -
lower jail times, this is a game, all the good role-players are leaving, which leaves us with more and more FRPers and less things for LEOs to do.

There are other ways to reduce criminals, however, criminals shouldn’t drop to 0. One of the ways is to have the criminals try different scenes. This would definitely take some understanding on the criminal’s end, but, they could do a MVA one day, and other violent crimes other days. Essentially, it would just be a big variation of crimes, which would probably make the county more enjoyable.

Another way is to impose the restrictions on the illegal gun purchasing. This would require developer support.

All in all, 72 hours isn’t the way to go. If criminals do their part and we do our part, we can create an enjoyable and roleplaying community

I disagree. Scene rammers, attention seekers, and reckless drivers is not the crime that is “good”.

shoot them and cuff rush. what part of that dont u understand

I agree as literally multiple criminals have left due to these stupid laws integrated into the game as if this is real life. I understand that we want to be “realistic” but being too “realistic” in a video is just called making all your community members leave.

this needs to CHANGE.

I kick attention seekers, scene rammers, etc. I can’t shoot reckless drivers nor cuff rush them.

I believe that nobody, even me, has the right to comment on how long criminals should get in jail time for serving their role in the state, though it is in my belief that we should try and put ourselves in their shoes and walk in them before commenting, so with that I bring everyone the following question:

If you are suspended within a department, should you be mandated to do up to 72 hours of PT before you’re allowed to rejoin your colleagues?

Think very deeply about this question and imagine how this relates to the criminal justice system. Remember every point you make here applies to the 72 hour debate we’re currently having. I’ll be very excited to see your responses and thoughts.
