For anyone that has a concern about Firestone and what you believe needs fixed from those in congress.
*Post about what you believe congressmen/congresswoman in congress need to fix.
*Post ideas you think congress as a whole should bring into Firestone.
(Makes it easier for those in congress to hear the people’s opinions on what needs fixed, etc.)
Or our congress people can reach out to the citizens of this state; as that is what they’re elected for, and thus should be gathering our thoughts that way?
Not like they post bulletins everyday and literally spam the forums asking for ideas and suggestions from citizens😒 I’m pretty sure citizens just don’t reach out to them and voice their opinion and would rather wait for them to do something they don’t like before starting to speak up.
There’s a time where we as Congresspeople don’t believe that what is supported is going to be the best for the State. I’ll be honest with you, I made several good points on Canine’s argument or request to increase the max term limit. It obviously originated from the idea that he wants to run for a third term. This had all the wrong merits, we should not have moved forward with this.
We currently have the max prisoning sentence time at 24 hours, which is collectively what the citizens wanted, so I’m not sure why that was brought up.
The blame shouldn’t just be on us, the House of Representatives, primarily because we have a bicameral legislature and they can represent you just as we do. It’s in our name, Representative, but Senators are elected officials. We have tried to become transparent and reach out to citizens more before we move on issues.
I know for a fact this is true, and individuals like @anon53012218 can confirm and attest to this fact, as he’s made several changes in the Legislative Branch Discord, including roles that we as Congresspeople can tag them for ideas, opinions, et cetera. Over time, in reference to feedback from the citizens, we have changed the way we operate to fulfill the needs of those who elected us.
Not sure what else to say here, for the most part, I genuinely believe you are incorrect.
“Sometimes you guys are wrong. But you are incorrect, we always listen to the citizens.”
i give u guys credit for bringing the sentencing time down to 24 hours finally, which i personally still think its about 24x too high, but my point is there was many times where our elected officials have tried to increase the sentencing time, or have failed efforts to decrease it in the past
and i semi misspoke saying representatives, my intention was saying the elected officials that “represent us” in congress, didnt mean to blame it only on the house of representatives
there are many times the congress does listen to us, but i was trying to point out u guys sometimes suck and ignore our wishes
so i shouldn’t have said you guys OFTEN don’t listen to us i guess, just sometimes you don’t and you suck major ass when you don’t
What you must understand, you may do so, however, you are neglecting the fact that we weren’t elected to represent everything that is supported by our constituents. That logic is flawed. We also were not elected to directly do what x % of people want, x % of people didn’t vote for us. Their voices do indeed matter, however, the concept that the majority dictates everything simply is not true. That majority does get one single vote in any elections, though.
