A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO

ESTABLISH AN EXEMPTION FOR SINGLE-CANDIDATE SPEAKER ELECTIONS


SECTION I: SEVERABILITY; EFFECTIVENESS

    (a) If any part of this resolution is struck down by the Firestone Supreme Court this resolution shall be null and void.

    (b) This resolution shall be deemed effective once all conditions outlined by the constitution necessary for its passage are fulfilled properly.

SECTION II: DEFINITIONS

    (a) “The Speaker of the House Resolution”, the “S.O.T.H. Resolution”, and “The S.O.T.H. Resolution” shall be defined as: The S.O.T.H. Resolution

SECTION III: TIMELINE

    (a) Section III, subsection e of the “S.O.T.H. Resolution” shall be established and shall state:

“(e) If only one candidate declares candidacy for Speaker of the House, and the declaration period ends or all other sitting members of the House waive their right to declare, then they shall automatically be elected Speaker of the House and the processes mentioned in subsection b, c, and d shall not be required.”

SECTION IV: ENFORCEMENT

    (a) The legislative, executive, and judicial branches shall enforce this legislation upon passing.
