The Sentencing Correction Act


IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF FIRESTONE

January 10th, 2024

Mr. Funpark22 (for himself) introduced the following act:


A HOUSE ACT

To increase sentencing time


         Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the State of Firestone in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE

    This Act may be cited as “The Sentencing Correction Act”".


SEC 2. ENACTMENT

    (a) This Legislation shall go into effect upon the completion of the constitutionally required processes.


SEC 3. SEVERABILITY

    Should any part of this Legislation be struck down and/or declared unenforceable, then that part shall be severed with the rest remaining in full force and effect unless all is struck down and/or declared unenforceable.


SEC 4. ENFORCEMENT

    (a) This Legislation shall be enforced by all relevant parties.


SEC 5. DEFINITIONS

    (a) For the purposes of this Act, the ‘Firestone Criminal Code’, as described by the Criminal Code Revision Act (R), shall be defined as: https://trello.com/b/EGN3OQzQ

    (b) For the purposes of this Act, the ‘Criminal Code Revision Act (R)’ shall be defined as: Criminal Code Revision Act (R)


SEC 6. REPEALMENTS

    This Act makes no repealments.


SEC 7. AMENDMENTS

    (a) Section IE1 of the Criminal Code Revision Act (R) shall be amended.

         (i) Section IE1 of the Criminal Code Revision Act (R) currently states:
"

  • Class A Felonies shall carry a sentence no more than 1 hour in a correctional facility
  • Class B Felonies shall carry a sentence no more than 50 minutes in a correctional facility
  • Class C Felonies shall carry a sentence no more than 30 minutes in a correctional facility
  • Class A Misdemeanors shall carry a sentence no more than 25 minutes in a correctional facility
  • Class B Misdemeanors shall carry a sentence no more than 20 minutes in a correctional facility
  • Class C Misdemeanors shall carry a sentence no more than 15 minutes in a correctional facility

"

         (ii) Section IE1 of the Criminal Code Revision Act (R) shall be amended to state:

"

  • Class A Felonies shall carry a sentence no more than 3 hours in a correctional facility
  • Class B Felonies shall carry a sentence no more than 2 hours and 30 minutes in a correctional facility
  • Class C Felonies shall carry a sentence no more than 2 hours in a correctional facility
  • Class A Misdemeanors shall carry a sentence no more than 1 hour and 30 minutes in a correctional facility
  • Class B Misdemeanors shall carry a sentence no more than 1 hour in a correctional facility
  • Class C Misdemeanors shall carry a sentence no more than 45 minutes in a correctional facility
