Should criminals be allowed to work/operate businesses within the County?

Criminals, in my opinion, should be able to work within the county in businesses under Commerce as being a “Criminal” isn’t a job, it’s more of a title given to people who have committed crimes. Also to add to this, the criminals who would work in the business wouldn’t be working at banks or security establishments for obvious security reasons.

Should criminals be able to work/operate in businesses (excluding Government departments) ?

Commerce should approve criminals or let it be a business that allows criminals. Like for example BAR people with certs should be allowed to open their own firm or whatever because BAR certs doesn’t have requirements as from record.

The Board of Legal Examiners and Ethics has indeed removed the felony record block (excluding crimes related to misconduct in court like perjury), so feasibly law firms would be the same as the DoCM has no authority over those.

So long as a murderer who poisoned his victims isn’t operating a cupcake shop, it’s fine by me. It’d be pretty cool if criminals could use their businesses as a front for a criminal organization, too, but I don’t suppose the Department of Commerce would go so far as to tolerate that if this idea were to be entertained.

You know, Redwood taxi was probably the best business ever ran. They even made a Redwood taxi audio on roblox to play in SC on their car radio. The tried to drive legal and follow laws until they got warrants and chased since they were running a illegals business

i don’t see why you can’t get your records expunged before joining a commerece-approved business but :man_shrugging:

Because there are currently 100 pending expungements

You got any competent people in mind? Because the line ain’t exactly out the door. Though to my credit, that number was over double not long ago.

It should be at the choice of businesses.

Choice of the business, and not Commerce controlling the whole business by scanning whomever works at the business. Unless of course, it is a security company and/or a bank.

This is a great idea, however, I think there should be some restrictions, obviously. This should be up to Commerce and the respective business, but those with a misdemeanor should definitely be able to get a job. However, those with a felony could be required to go felony-free or crime-free for a period of time.

Generally, I think letting criminals, or at least those without felony records, opening/working in a business is a great idea to increase the enjoyment in the county. This can also lead to less crimes are criminals would be more occupied with the business work as well!
