So why exactly can any swingin-dick civ just go and purchase a fully automatic AK from Paws, but FSP and SCSO get Glocks and Remington Airsoft replicas? We need some sort of patrol rifle for regular officers rather than reserving them for SWAT, NG, DHS, hell, even DOC has M4s. Come on, we need to be able to combat groups of armed suspects with automatic weapons, like the three that killed two cops and injured an FSP officer today.
this has been a topic for so long now, just get over it. giving a deputy or a trooper an AR seems a little bit overboard, because the leos are gonna start only using their ARs to take people out rather their glocks because they arent good at shooting. yes, maybe if post implemented gun use rules which stated when and when you cant use certain firearms, I would be in favor of this, however there are no rules therefore its a no from me. (edit) beastdabest makes a great point aswell. if you arent good with a glock, why give u higher tier weapons

I see deputies and trooper that can’t even use their guns right so why give them ARs. Yea I get it, it’s way better but at least learn to use your glock effectively that just asking for better guns.

You have SWAT, FNG and CRT for a reason. At last, let me remind you that most of FSP/SCSO officers have bad aim and bad combat skills (Apparently, it’s a fact, ok). I suggest that you, instead of asking for rifles, get a higher skill instead.

In real life they have patrol rifles sometimes, why not give it to firestone LEOS? Besides, suspects usually have like AKs and stuff.

I would care less. I used to be in SWAT and the AR-15 is a crappy gun because of its crappy fire rate. You’ll be better off with a Glock 23. Trust me, I’ve seen deputies and troopers who shoot like stormtroopers.

yes, some departments do carry ARs but beast again made a great point that if u dont have enough skill to use a glock why should you be given an AR
