IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF FIRESTONE

AN ACT
To Establish Partisan Elections Pursuant To The Recognition Of Primary Elections And General Elections
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the State of Firestone in Congress Assembled,
SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE; REFERENCES IN ACT; EFFECTIVE DATE
- Short Title — This Act may be cited as the “Partisan Elections Act of 2018”.
- References in Act — Except as otherwise expressly provided in this Act, wherever an amendment or repeal is expressed in terms of an amendment to or repeal of a section or other provision, the reference shall be considered to be made to that section.
- Effective Date — This Act shall be enacted as soon as its passage from both chambers of Congress.
SECTION 2. SENSE OF CONGRESS
It is in the sense of Congress that—
- There is no purpose of our political parties
- Our election system is outdated and unrealistic
SECTION 3. DEFINITIONS
- The term political party herein shall be referenced to as a political party that has been passed by the Congressional assembly by means of legislation.
SECTION 4. PARTY AFFILIATION
- Political Parties are to set up a form of registration so that people can declare their affiliation with a party.
- A joint-party form of information shall be maintained, be it a trello board, etc; by the developers. Upon one’s declaration of affiliation to a party, the Chairman of the party is to add that Citizens name to the board to officialize their political affiliation.
SECTION 5. PRIMARY ELECTION
- Each political party is to host an election within their own party to nominate a person of said position. This election is to be referenced to as the “Primaries” or “Primary Election.”
- The party reserves the right on who to place on the ballot.
- The party can nominate one (1) gubernatorial candidate and one (1) lieutenant gubernatorial candidate that are running together in a gubernatorial election.
- The party may not nominate more than the positions open for a congressional election.
- In the end of the Primary Election, the party nominates the candidate(s) for the office.
- The party is to nominate the said candidate by a deadline set forth by the Election Sponsor.
- A candidate who declares themselves as unaffiliated, in other words, Independent, is to inform the Election Sponsor and is permitted to running without the nomination of a Party. Should they fail to do so by the aforementioned deadline, they are to be disqualified from running.
- Political Parties must be fair in their nominations and must base their nominations on the votes by their members, and not by their own personal opinions.
SECTION 6. GENERAL ELECTION
- Upon the deadline, the General Election is to be hosted by the Election Sponsor. This election, as defined by our current electoral system, puts the name of each nominated candidate by the party and puts them on a main ballot for the Citizens to vote.
- At the end of the General Election, the candidate(s) with the most votes takes the office.
- Should in the event where the number of running candidates does not exceed the number of positions open, the candidates shall automatically assume the office.
SECTION 7. GENERAL PROVISIONS
- Political parties and persons may not bribe any citizens to vote for a certain individual. Political parties and persons shall not engage in the act of corruption. Anyone caught doing anything listed in this section shall be immediately impeached from office, or if they are running, they shall be disqualified from office. Any party caught doing anything listed in this section shall be no longer recognized by the State of Firestone by legislation.
- Any party caught breaking any part of this bill shall be no longer recognized by the State of Firestone.
- If at anytime the number of recognized political parties falls under four (4), this bill shall be null and void until the number of recognized political parties rises to four (4) or higher. If at anytime one of the four (4) or more political parties falls inactive, the inactive party shall immediately no longer be recognized by the State of Firestone by the passage of legislation.
- The Firestone Election Committee is permitted to investigate any matters that breaks this legislation directly or indirectly, and based on their findings they can perform actions that they deem appropriate.
SECTION 7. OVERSIGHT AND ENFORCEMENT
- This legislation shall be overseen by the Office of the Governor and enforced by Firestone Election Committee.
