MatthewCarlyle for the House!

Hello to my fellow Firstone residents. I am MatthewCarlyle, and I am here to state my intent on running for the State of Firestone’s House of Representatives.

Experience in the State:

  • Deputy First Class, Stapleton County Fire Department - Current
  • Fire-Medic, Stapleton County Fire Department - Current
  • Corrections Officer, Firestone Department of Corrections - Former
  • Specialist, Special Emergency Response Team, FDOC - Former
  • Councilman, District of Prominence Council - Former

As shown above, I have had a wide range of experience within the State of Firestone, ranging from Law Enforcement to Firefighting to Politics.

Plans in Office:

First of all, I want to do more to protect Law Enforcement and Public Employees. Whilst on duty, they are subject - time and time again - to Battery and Assaults from members of the public, which only lands them with a simple Assault/Battery charge, which I want to change.

Secondly, I want to review the Criminal Code and make adjustments to some classifications of crimes, such as Evasion - which is a felony as of now.

Additionally, I want to work with my other members of congress to ensure that the State is running well and that necessary legislation is in place to protect Law Enforcement, Public Employees, Congressmen, and the Firestone citizens.

Conclusion:

I’m aware that I am not really known within the group all too much. However, I am willing to work hard to ensure that I am doing the best I can in office.

Well, I want to make the addition of Assault on a Peace Officer & Battery on a Peace Officer, Additionally Assault on a Public Employee & Battery on a Public Employee.

An example, would be changing regular evasion from a Felony C to Misdemeanour A, because to me it simply doesn’t make sense having a it a felony when Felony Evasion is a law.

I have noticed that the recent health act that was put to congress failed. So I would like to get a health act passed through the chambers to protect the Department of Health and EMT.
