Firestone V2 Distributing Firearms Suggestion

A small version of the idea has been toyed with for V3.

If something like this were to be implemented in V2, it would make a big change. I feel as it’s better to have more players to introduce V3 afterwards.

crt gets sniper, crt dispenses sniper, criminal have sniper. just think it would be great for criminals but the leo dispensing stuff is a big nono

which is why he’s saying it’d give something for the FBI to do and investigate.

i dont really see a problem with LEOs being able to drop/give firearms to criminals
unless somehow it breaks a game mechanic or something
cause like… its pretty realistic for you to be able to hand something ur holding to someone lol

exactly, and if a LEO is mass dispensing like CRAZY, like im talking about GAME BREAKING that I’d assume that it would be bannable.

would be heavily abused considering most of our previous gangs contained exploiters.

people would be losing their guns nonstop and random civs would be picking up and storing them all the time, likely tripling the amount of random shootings we have now

effectively allowing law enforcement to plant guns on people

Allowing civilians who happen to own firearms but can’t make money as easy in this state to lose their guns with relative ease isn’t really something I can get behind. Allowing law enforcement to alter people’s inventories during searches (unless they were seizing weapons/other) isn’t something I can get behind either. And allowing members of departments to lose their tools isn’t something I can get behind. This idea would only really be positively applicable to criminals.

I really didn’t like a few of the points made in the “How would these weapons be distributed or dealed?” section however this forum post overall is a pretty decent idea that’s been presented before. It would be nice to have an illegal arms trade, and it would give something for members of organized crime to do. (I bounced all over when writing this so expect repetition in what I said above)

if cops drop guns when they die firestone will turn into mayflower. Cops won’t even be able to get out of their car and do a traffic stop without getting killed.

honestly criminal / civ dealing to other civs is a great suggestion

but law enforcement dealing multiple firearms is a little unrealistic as i believe in real life they are only provided with 1/2 departmental weapons and if they go missing its kind of suspicious

but if they dealt one departmental provided firearm that would be cool and i guess realistic (concerning the amount of law enforcement firearms dealt) i dont know how they would script that but ya

I know this has been talked about already and basically rejected for v2 but this would add something for everyone.

  1. I dont agree that any LEO team should be able to drop their service weapons.

  2. civilians/criminals can exchange/sell weapons to each other.

  3. congress can make new laws regulating sale and distribution of private fire arms.

  4. courts can prosecute for illegal/reckless distribution of firearms

  5. businesses can sell second hand firearms for cheaper price.

  6. FBI can pose as gun dealers to crims

THE OPPORTUNITIES ARE ENDLESS.

I think everyone needs to calm down and stop making v2 suggestions otherwise we won’t see v3 full release for another year or longer possibly.

We already wont see v3 for another year atleast regardless. V3 as it is is already like 2 years late. We NEED these updates to keep Firestone going until v3 is finally released or else everyone is gonna get bored and just leave.

Two or three months ago, if not even more recently I too had this mindset but after taking a second to look at the reality of the situation my mindset has changed completely. V3 was said numerous times to be set for release by April 1st, the 4th(?) anniversary of Firestone a little over a half a year ago now but look where we are now. Dont get me wrong, unlike some others I still have confidence in Envelope and the rest of the developers and I still believe v3 can eventually happen but at this point I also believe that we need v2 updates to keep the group atleast alive until we get v3. There are people just saying do a v2 remastered at this point and whether they’re joking or not i’m even starting to agree with them.
