My main point is that I wouldn’t consider a peace treaty an affiliation. All it means is that we won’t be at war as long as the treaty is pretty much followed.

You all are proving my point to Ash. I stated, as well as the State Department that any sort of relations and or alliances with the Nation of Aigio would be a bad idea; Ash decides now to want to start such moves.
I made this form to prove to Ash, why, the State Department, did not want to push for relations with Aigio:
a.) Knowing how bad foreign affairs with Aigio have been the past three terms
b.) The public viewpoint/concerns

What’s kinda funny is you say Ash is pushing for relations with Aigio. I do remember Ash constantly stating that he supports and would push for isolationism, and even stated it during the debate. So this is just rather interesting.
