TL;DR delete county administration. Useless. People shouldn’t say that is a good place to start when all they do is already done on a state level leaving nothing to do there.

county isn’t useless at all-- they do a lot of good work and it is truly a great place to start from and get a basic understanding of how legislatures work.
many current state officials welcome the county to do things at its own perogative, and elements that surpressed the county’s authority are being slowly dismantled. the county simply hasn’t acted on the opportunity it has, or if the state has been ‘swooping in’, they haven’t raised any (recent) specific case of such.

Personally I don’t support, these departments have run fine at a state level and moving them to county is just going to cause an absolute shitload of paperwork for departmental administration.

Doing a separation of powers across Roblox is quite hard, obviously, the state will always be more powerful and have more than the county and city levels.
In terms of making the county do more, I think the county needs things to do that don’t step on the state itself. Nothing stops the County DA from bringing up proceedings against people the same way the state AG does, the same goes for the city.
The county government is a good stepping stone into the wonderful place we call firestone politics, and it isn’t ever going to be as hectic and have as much as the state, as that was never its purpose. The county government will always handle county-led aspects.

And for everyone in this thread, would it be cool for another county department? Yes. Are we going to get one? No. The bottom line is that it’s a constant power struggle with people like the aforementioned who think that “we don’t do anything” etc. yet have never even tried to learn more about what we HAVE done or TRY to do every day.
When the county or a municipal has an idea they’d like to implement, we have to tread lightly around the state to simply not piss anyone off. It has been and will continue to be “County doesn’t do anything!!” ok…county does something new “NO THAT’S TOO MUCH!! YOU’RE TRYING TO TAKE OVER.” People continue to bring up past CE’s like mark and patchy, and it’s past time to move on.
So again, I’m not here to kiss anyone’s ass- and I’m sure as hell not going to watch some of y’all rant about the municipal and county department/agencies in a negative way just because you don’t have the time to look into the details themselves. The county and municipal governments have good people in them, and our relationship with each other hasn’t been toxic in at least a year+. I’ve done everything in my power to work with the state on issues (when I’m actually asked), and this “neutral feeling” between the two comes after a long battle that started at least 4 Executives before me; it’s what needs to be kept.

There’s not a lot to do when the state government refuses to give anything to the county/cities.
When I was County Executive, I got told that the county/cities would be able to manage the traffic code. Here we are, several months, and I am still waiting on a county/city written traffic law.
Allow me to tell you what you’ll be doing: you will be in a constant struggle with the state government to get a shred of power. If you are lucky enough to manage to get that little piece of power, you will be in a constant struggle to keep that power and hope the state doesn’t swoop in and take it again (Like what Daunt is saying). This struggle will continue to go on for terms and terms to come. Although, you will gain legislative experience regardless. The county & municipalities is a very non-hostile workplace for newcomers, and I certainly encourage new people to look into running for the city or county councils. Yes, they may not have much to do, but attending a session or two can really enhance your understanding of the state legislature (as the county operates very similarly to the state).
At this point, the whole purpose of the County Executive is to fight within their entire 4 month term for a little piece of power. It’s the unfortunate reality we’re in, and I’ve been trying to do this for well over a year throughout my service to the county.
Now if you’ve got an issue with this, go to your local representative/senator and hope they’ll listen. I’ve tried to for a year and half with little results so let’s see how far you can go with it.

Problem with county/city is- yea they can make good laws, but no state department is gonna want to enforce it since they dont have to, and even when county “orders” SCSO to do it, they’re not comfortable doing so cause if they enforce it and theres a small error in the legislation that screws everything up then its the officers ass in court, not the councils, also yes most things that county could do are taken by state like firearms, maintenance, and other things, county and cities are forced to to do PR events to not look completely dead.
Even tho they are not at risk at all for abolishment cause fed banned any bill to abolish them cause he has some sort of plan for taxes in V3 that he needs lower level govs for
