Complainant Protection Amendment


Be it resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the State of Firestone in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. EFFECTIVENESS

This Amendment shall be effective upon completion of the constitutionally required process.

SECTION 2. DEFINITIONS/CLARIFICATIONS

  1. For the purposes of this act, “complainant” shall be any person reporting misconduct to a regulatory body, such as (but not limited to) the Department of Justice, Department of Public Safety, any public service academy and/or licensure entity, the Firestone Firearms Commission, the Board of Legal Examiners and Ethics, or departmental ethics/integrity bodies/officials.

SECTION 2. SEVERABILITY

  1. Should any part of this Amendment be struck down or declared unenforceable, then that part of the Amendment shall be considered severed from this Amendment, and the rest shall remain in full force.

SECTION 3. AMENDMENT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT

(a) Section 8(b)(vi) does not currently exist, but shall be created and state:

(vi) The name or other identifying information of any complainant reporting alleged misconduct to a government regulatory body if that complainant made it clear to the body they wished to remain anonymous
