An Amendment to Establish Maritime Crimes

BE IN ENACTED BY THE STATE OF FIRESTONE CONGRESS HERE ASSEMBLED THAT:

SECTION 1.1: “Chapter 7 - Maritime Crimes” shall be established within the Firestone Criminal Code ®.

SECTION 1.2: Chapter 7, Section 1 shall be added to the Firestone Criminal Code and named; “§1-Reckless Boating.”

SECTION 1.2A: Sub-sections a, a1, and a2 shall be added to the Firestone Criminal Code Chapter 7, Section 1.

SECTION 1.3: Chapter 7, Section 2 shall be added to the Firestone Criminal Code and named; “§2-Maritime Piracy”

SECTION 1.3A: Sub-sections a, and a1 shall be added to the Firestone Criminal Code Chapter 7, Section 2.

SECTION 2.1: Chapter 7, Section 1, subsection a shall state, “Reckless Boating shall be recognized as an unlawful criminal offense in the State of Firestone.”

SECTION 2.1A: Chapter 7, Section 1, subsection a1 shall state, “Reckless Boating shall be the act of, through clear and extreme disregard for others safety, operating a watercraft in a way that creates an undue hazard to another. This includes, but is not limited to; maneuvering the watercraft at a high rate of speed unsafely in a crowded area, driving a watercraft onto, or against a shore-line with people at an unsafe distance to the watercraft, and operating the watercraft unreasonably close and dangerous to another.

SECTION 2.BC: Chapter 7, Section 1, subsection a2 shall state, “The Firestone Coast Guard, Stapleton County Fire Department Search and Rescue, and Firestone Department of Corrections Marine Division shall be exempt from Chapter 7, Section 1 if their amber lights are turned on.

SECTION 2.2: Chapter 7, Section 2, subsection a shall state, “Maritime Piracy shall be recognized as an unlawful criminal offense in the State of Firestone.”

SECTION 2.2A: Chapter 7, Section 2, subsection a1 shall state, “Maritime Piracy shall be the act of boarding a vessel and holding the captain and possible crew as hostage.”

SECTION 3: Reckless Boating shall be a Class C misdemeanor; with a punishment of 200 seconds in a correctional facility.

SECTION 3.1 Maritime Piracy shall be a Class B Felony; with a punishment of 900 seconds in a correctional facility.

SECTION 4: This bill shall be enforced by all law enforcement agencies.

SECTION 5: This amendment shall go into effect after following the Constitutional procedure required.
