An Act to Prevent the Harboring of Juror Misconduct

IN THE STATE OF FIRESTONE CONGRESS HERE ASSEMBLED THAT:

§1: This act shall be entitled “An Act to Prevent the Harboring of Juror Misconduct” and shall go into effect immediately upon enactment into law.

§2: The Department of Justice, the courts of this state, and the legislature shall be charged with enforcing this act.

§3: It shall not be considered to be a violation of Section 3 of “A Bill to Institute Jury Reform” or a violation of the Rules of General Procedure for a person to disclose any juror’s record or any jury deliberations to the Department of Justice, courts of the State of Firestone, member(s) of congress, the Department of Homeland Security, the Governor, or the Lt. Governor if there is cause to believe that the juror or a jury violated the General Rules of Procedure or “A Bill to Institute Jury Reform”.

§4: The courts of the State of Firestone shall report to the Speaker of the House, Lieutenant Governor, Governor, Attorney General, and Deputy Attorney General when they find cause to believe that a juror (or jury) has violated the General Rules of Procedure or “A Bill to Institute Jury Reform”. Such a report shall include the date of the incident in question, the deliberations or records showing the incident, and other such material requested by the Department of Justice or legislature in their effort to investigate the report.

§5: If the Department of Justice finds cause to believe that a juror (or jury) has violated the General Rules of Procedure or “A Bill to Institute Jury Reform” they may file an application to the District Court to release the record of the juror and/or the deliberations of the jury in that instance. Such an application shall be directed to any judge located in any court of the state and shall contain evidence establishing probable cause of such a violation. If the Judge finds probable cause they shall grant the request without delay and turn over the requested items.

§6: Hereinafter the words “A Bill to Institute Jury Reform” shall refer to: A Bill to Institute Jury Reform.

§7: Hereinafter the words “Rules of General Procedure” shall refer to: Trello

§8: The above legislation shall be proposed to the House of Representatives, then if passed, shall move onto the Senate, and if passed then this legislation shall go into effect immediately; unless vetoed by the incumbent Governor.
