We already give criminals a lot of opportunities as substitutions for incarceration (e.g. plea deals, non-prosecution agreements, and of course BREC…). Keeping the current constitutionally-permitted maximum is desirable, at least in my opinion. Businesses already have tons of support, trust me, though the idea is not necessarily bad or overemphasized.
I would rather see work on a new constitution (i.e. help with the “Firestone Constitutional Convention”). I’m not sure if the Governors are going to assist (as [I believe] promised in their campaign), but I do very much support a new constitution, especially considering how our state has evolved ever since its effective enactment.
