A lack of criminals in FS: A really big problem

Hello, my name is Fairfull. I’ve been an LEO for over a year and have noticed some significant issues having to do with FS that not a lot of people are talking about. There’s one in particular which I think needs more light shed onto it.

Lately, lots of criminals in Firestone have either gone legal, or left FS all together.

Now, at first glance this is a very good thing. Less crime, means happier people, etc.

But when you come to think of how FS functions, it’s a very big issue. FS is and always will be a sort of “cops and robbers” game. Sure, there’s other stuff to do, but a lot of people come to firestone for the LEO experience. Criminals are not only an important part of the LEO experience, but also basically every other position in Firestone. What are judges and lawyers going to do when or if criminals disappear? What will really be the point of lawmakers if there’s nobody to break laws, and eventually, due to that issue, enforce them?

My point is that criminals play as much of an important role in FS as lawyers, LEOs, etc do. No criminals, and cops will start to leave, and it can cause a massive chain reaction.

So my question is to all of those criminals who went legal or left all together: why, and how can we rebuild the criminal community to make sure that FS as a whole maintains a strong, active community into V3 and abroad?

As an LEO myself, and someone who plans to continue being an LEO and plans on staying on the legal side of things until I leave Firestone, I really hope we can get to the bottom of this issue as I do care for this community, and want to see it keep prospering. Thank you for taking the time to read this, leave your thoughts below please.

Just an FYI, this is something that not only I have experienced but other have too lately. I have found patrols to be a lot less busy and usually I can go a full patrol without a call. Perhaps I’m just having some unlucky patrols if that’s the case.

Same I haven’t experience much calls either lately

I think one of the main issues is just pure toxicity. Uninviting community means less people. There are as many toxic LEOs as there are criminals, if not, more. How do we fix it? We fix each other. Keep others in check. If someone else is being toxic, tell them to stop. This goes the same for criminals. Tell each other to stop, it’s just going to improve us better in the long run.

Now, another issue is barely anything for criminals to do. Now, yeah, V2 is set in stone, not much can happen, so this is hard to solve. But is it really? Criminals should try to expand roleplay behind just crimes. Doing simple MVAs, search and rescue, medical scenes, etc always helps! I totally understand if some cops aren’t willing to roleplay along with you all, but you just have to find the right people and the right time. I personally love MVAs and anything that isn’t just pursuits, constant ramming, etc. Try to find some new roleplay scenes to do, it’ll help!

Overall, I think the entire community needs to change their mindset. Law enforcement officials need to understand that criminals aren’t serial killers, they’re just regular people trying to have fun in a game and giving you something to do. Criminals also should understand the law enforcement are ordinary people who will make mistakes from time to time and should not rip them into tiny pieces over something so simple. I’ve stated this before, but if we, as a community, come together and improve ourselves, we can make this an outstanding and fantastic experience within V2.

Also, there is a lack of things for criminals to do. Farm/Buy money for an AK, shoot cops, get killed. Repeat. If they’re unlucky, jail for 15 minutes, warrant, or court. Maybe throw in a bank/atm robbery, sure I guess…?

But organized crime would be neat, but again they have nothing to do…

So…

Gun trafficking! Allow players to give guns (most would sell them). Even allow players to drop guns on death, including cops.

Are there corrupt cops too? What if they sell their guns too to criminals! Even more so to organized crime gangs!

Well for one, after a while you criminals get bored of the same thing, so they don’t play for a few months and then they will come back. Plus, school.

Lots of people say organized crimes would be neat, but even with organized crimes it’s the same thing to do. Even if someone manages to make a organized bank robbery it would more of a disaster than a unorganized one. Most of the time CRT or SWAT would use flashbang and charge right in and cuff everyone behind the counter unless env is own they not use flashbang.

I tried to role play doing crimes, when My friends and I took hostages we would type “pins to ground” “drags to car” “puts in car” “checks pocket” “ties”. Most of the time the hostages will page LEOs thru discord or straight up call cops in front of us. Some people would make up stuff like “Pushes panic button on thigh”. Also, even when you say “pushes and ties” some CFLs would still pull out a firearm and kill the criminal. Remember that hostage sit I did that carried out for 2 hours and at the end they gave me 15k before taking it away? Well I started out with 7 hostages 30 minutes in to the rp 3 of them got bored and said “kicks open door and run” even tho they are tied.

Recently a MAJOR reason that made my friends stop crimes were the baton update. The baton is a good idea I won’t deny. But some cops would use it to remove people from a MOVING car. Then there’s times when some LEOs won’t even do a felony stop, they just charge at you with a baton and cuff you. (Env said it’s frp) but people didn’t record

I can make that possible.

To what I’ve seen I’m probably wrong but I’ve been told criminals have only left because of this max sentencing time or whatever, and the price of illegal guns

maybe make some pistol or something about 4k for criminals idk

Correct me if im wrong

I completely agree. Being a former criminal myself, this is what I can say.

I quit because:

-Jail Time

-affordability

-Toxic community

-wanted to help the house and senate out with everyone resigning and getting expulsed (irrelevant)

Now, the Jail Time. Though the current system is realistic, maybe keep trying to contact long-sentenced criminals that want to do anything else but sit in their cell (@DPW). I also encourage DOC to do “welfare checks” more often. To be quite honest, when I was in DOC, no one ever followed that policy, nor was it ever enforced.

Affordability is next. They should lower the price for criminals with the handguns. 1.8k for each handgun (I assumed, trying to think back). Also, the storage units cost 5k a week. No one is going to have a sufficient amount of money to afford that over time. Maybe FS can make some part-time jobs (kind of like Bloxburg, though that’s not what this game is made for).

Finally, a Toxic community. When I was a criminal and am now a Civilian, about 1/2 or even more than half of the LEOs are toxic. When I worked for DOC, there were even some toxic officers in the department that no one wanted to be working beside. CRT, no offense, and I congratulate you, but you once had a VERY toxic department. I’ve seen that toxic level drop substantially, though I’d also like to see it change with other LEO departments, and criminals. The only reason criminals are toxic is because they’re trying to annoy LEOs (mostly cop baiting (also baiting DOT)). Game mods, ramp up your activity. I’ve heard the community complaining about the activity of game mods. Maybe hire more Env, or raise the standards for your game mods?

In conclusion, I’d just like to say that I meant no reason to offend anyone with this reply. I’d love some constructive criticism or feedback. Thank you!

You can’t accuse game moderators for their activity. We’re a small team of about 5-6 and we’re quite overworked, to say the least. All of us have lives, and we can’t spend 24 hours in the game.

If there’s FRP, record it, get identification, and send it to a game moderator. I have started to Trello ban a lot of people who constantly ram DOT, fling SCFD, etc. Eventually, they can end up being permanently banned if they didn’t learn their lesson.

Always recording always helps. I can’t seem to grasp the fact that cops just end up rushing in without roleplaying the actual scene. Firestone is for roleplay, and not many understand that.

What’s the point if you’re just going to rush in and kill everyone? Haha, I killed someone on virtual game!

Game moderators aren’t hesitant to ban LEOs who FRP, because truly, it really ends up screwing the community. Like I said before, I think this community needs to change their mindset towards each other and treat everyone like their human beings. The point of FS is to roleplay, not use some guns to kill someone and repeat 500 items — that’s boring.

I realize your circumstances. Maybe Env can hire people that are in different time zones so there will always be one mod in the server or one able to get on at a moments notice.

We have a few reserves that are being trained to expand our team.

It’s actually 5k to buy and 750 to renew, only have to buy it once and pay 750 a week.

Still, expensive over time, for me and other criminals at the time at least.

criminals are apart of the game and the community like them or not. they help sustain all LEO departments with actual work to do. and this is why i advocated for lower prison times i’d rather have legit crime then frp and ramming crowds at the bus stop.

You can find pure toxicity in any roleplay group on Roblox today, that’s just how it is. I see the main problem to be a lack of things for criminals to do.

To show a comparison, let’s go back to Norfolk, they had:

  • Fists (Get it with gamepass)
  • Knives (Get it with in game money)
  • Jailbreak System: Includes bolt cutters, C4 bomb and a lockpick.
  • Bank Robberies (They used a hammer to break the glass and we have a similar system)
  • Many alley ways and hiding spots

Because Norfolk was just a city, the map had more space for a lot of buildings with alleyways that allow criminals to escape police, hide, etc. There was a lot of action in Norfolk, (which made it fun) but not a lot of roleplay. For a period of time, police had a baton as the arrest tool and they would swing it over a player to arrest them. Initially known as “baton rush”, it was everyone for themselves, making the city chaotic.

Today in Firestone, we generally see pursuits which end with flat tires or they crash into a group of people and everyone starts shooting. At the prison, we see people jump the drop gate to “break in” and others do drive by shootings, which becomes redundant when 10 lockdowns are initiated on the same day for the same reason.

tl;dr Having no roleplay is simple but causes chaos and defeats the ultimate purpose of Firestone. More incentives for roleplay should be incorporated, like tools, animations and other features and systems.

Yet, we don’t want lag.
