A Bill to Establish Prisoner Rights
PREAMBLE: To make what is unjust, just.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE STATE OF FIRESTONE CONGRESS HERE ASSEMBLED THAT:
SECTION 1: Prisoner shall have Prisoner Rights in the StapIeton County Prison run by the Firestone Department of Corrections.
SECTION 2: All prisoners shall be free from cruel and unjust punishment, have shelter from the elements, access to adequate food and water, be able to voice their concerns, and use their BOR.I rights. All prisoners shall also be able to access health care if needed, which shall be provided by the Department of Health, and StapIeton County Fire Department. The StapIeton County Fire Department will use an ambulance to transport an inmate to the hospital if the inmate has life-threatening injuries.
A: If an inmate needs to be taken out of the prison, then a Department of Corrections employee must go along with the ambulance.
B: A life-threatening injury shall be defined in this legislation as an injury that will lead to death if not treated in a short amount of time, and will lead to an ambulance transporting the inmate to the StapIeton County hospital.
C: If the injury is not life-threatening, then anyone with an EMT-B certification will be able to treat the patient for any injuries they may have.
D: Prisoner and inmate shall be defined in this legislation as someone who is incarcerated in the StapIeton County prison.
E: Prison and StapIeton County Prison shall be defined as the penitentiary that the Firestone Department of Corrections operates.

SECTION 3: This legislation shall be overseen and enforced by Firestone Department of Corrections, Firestone Department of Health, and the StapIeton County Fire Department.
SECTION 4: This legislation shall go into effect immediately.
SECTION 5: All laws in conflict with this legislation are hereby declared null and void.
