We need an official MDT

We need an official MDT

Ok. i’m very sure MANY of you will agree with me on this, but it is extremely confusing on what MDT we should be using, and what is accurate, and what is up-to-date, and what is maintained, etc.

We have the spreadsheet. We have a Criminal Code Trello. We have a Manual on Traffic Regulations Trello. And then we have this 35 page document. But, nobody actually seems to know which one we should be using? I don’t, and I am sure many others don’t either.

One minute we are told to use one, and then we are told to use a different one. and that is just constant, and there is 0 clarification.

We either need a new OFFICIAL one making or we need to be told which one IS OFFICIAL and we are to use it. I originally thought the spreadsheet was official and to be used, but now I have been told otherwise?

too long; dont read if you dont want: we need clarification on which mdt to use and which is up to date etc.

From being a Cadet in POST, they always recommended or did recommend using the MDT Spreadsheet however once I entered FSP we were told to use the Trello Board for Traffic Regulations and Criminal Code however a few months ago we were told to use the Criminal Code Trello and the Traffic Regulations on the Spreadsheet which made no sense. All of the charge times/amounts were completely different. There isn’t a reason why there shouldn’t be one universal MDT we can use for accurate prison times or charge amounts and it would also clear up a lot of confusion.

Use Trello for all criminal charges.

For now I suggest using the Trello for traffic charges but it is not 100% accurate.

And I must inform you that the upcoming Traffic Code will not be like the Criminal Code and will most likely not be a suitable MDT. I will therefore task myself to create an extremely accurate MDT for the Traffic Code which I am doing right now on this Trello: Trello

For some inferior government charges you can use the MDT and refer back to the linked legislation.

ok well if thats the case then it needs to be implemented state wide because it wont be long until we are told otherwise by someone else again

It’s pretty simple if you just look into it. The MDT spreadsheet is just outdated and shouldn’t be used by anyone. I don’t even think they update it anymore; it’s pretty much abandoned. The Criminal Code trello board is official law and thus always up to date and useable. The Traffic Regulations Manual is a representation of the Traffic Revision Act and is not official law, but it is still updated and thus useable. The 35 page document you linked is the actual Traffic Revision Act and is just the actual law. (It should also be noted that a new Traffic Act in the same form as the Criminal Code is being worked on.)

The reason that there isn’t one universal MDT is that it would have to be official law, which would mean you have to put all the State’s criminal and traffic charges into one law. This would be somewhat difficult and could present some issues, especially when an amendment needs to be made. The biggest issue in this case would be County and municipal law, as this could and would not be in this ‘universal’ MDT. This would then lead to an even greater negligence of the County’s and municipalities’ laws, which isn’t a great thing.

TL;DR
MDT - outdated, not kept up anymore, don’t use it
Criminal Code Trello - actual law, use
Traffic Regulations Manual Trello - not actual law, but kept up to date, useable
Traffic Revision Act document - actual law, but long and features way more than just the traffic violations, use at own discretion (not completely sure if amendments are included in the document)

A universal MDT is difficult to make, because it would need to be actual law to make sure it isn’t abandoned or outdated. This would be somewhat cumbersome.

??? The MDT traffic charges should be similar if not the same as the charges on the Traffic Regulations Board

Amendments are NOT included in this document but to accurately reflect it I will update the Drive PDF with the amendments in case people start using that.

The illusional ‘Firestone Code’ which people sometimes talk of should be a priority for lawmakers. I’m currently working on a project similar to the Firestone Code but won’t actually put any effort into it until the Traffic Code is finished.

PLEASE REMINDER FOR THE Firestone Manual on Traffic Regulations Board THAT THE CARDS IN THE RIGHT-HAND LISTS ARE TO BE IGNORED COMPLETELY!

We are getting one in v3 anyway

‘Anyway’ is a bit of an overstatement as god knows when v3 will be a functional game but yes this is a good point. Myself and other Congressional members have already consulted with Env and the agreement is that – for v3 – the Legislature will control the list of charges an officer can choose from in-game (currently already in-game). This is already partly the case in v3 at the moment

you know what I think (unless this is planned) an ingame one. like where leos click to search plate and view database and stuff. there should be an MDT thing and then you choose Traffic/Crime and it loads the cars from a trello board. env/path (not sure which) has done application centres with trello, so they could probably do this. I could

ok I see your message. i posted that after reading yours ok

Yes this is already the case for v3 but honestly – correct me if I’m wrong – is it that difficult to implement something like that? It’s already in v3 and it’s practically a drop down list with charges you can tack on to an offense. Perhaps they could add it to v2 to see how it would function in v3, or at least a test variant

its not too difficult to do it, no. I am actually working on something like that for another group

I think if there was to be a system like Mayflower where you could just click the charge and it would automatically do the time (but with stacking of charges) then it would be a good system.

Ingame of course

yeah but i wouldnt say have it on the cuffs, I’d just say where you view and choose. like when you view the database when arresting (to see priors), we could view the MDT when arresting to see the charges and times and descriptions

I don’t have any problems with using the Trello but I feel like a MDT would make it all easier when on-duty.
