Should the FBI be brought back?

@DevMartavis You consistantly say we need someone competent to lead it.

So I have a question, who’s that person?

Before you say it’s the governors job to search for a good person - your entire argument is based on a good person running the FBI. If you can’t name someone competent then your entire argument is meaningless. Back up your argument.

There is next to nobody on a short list who is

  1. Willing
  2. Capable
  3. Experienced

Anyone who lead the FBI simply didn’t have one of those three. That explains why they consistently crossed the line, tried to get involved in things they had no grounds in, and always demanded more.

In my legislative eyes and experience, the bill presented by @Ronald_Reagan and @DevMartavis has the following traits:

  1. Brings back FBI
  2. Is excessively long
  3. Hurts the ability of IO
  4. Gives FBI powers to do exactly what IO does, with AG approval
  5. Gives FBI powers to do exactly what SF did, with the exclusion of arrests and firearms
  6. Kills CGOC
  7. Has excessive oversight of FBI which would make the job that much more unentising
  8. Has several loopholes and legally ambiguity
  9. Uses shitty bill format

My personal take after reading the bill.

It could be used, however I don’t see a huge point to it.

io just wants to be the one and only hotshots lmao

io can stick to criminal stuff and they are basically a glorified scso, all i see is them driving around doing regular duties lol. so if transparency is the issue, fix it.

now with fbi, it can be successful. they could focus on very high level thing such as government officials etc, courts, that stuff.

I remember when one of my staff members in POST accidentally demoted some Cadets and the FBI investigated me for whatever reason over something as stupid as that.

I say no.

Coming from someone that was SAIC of FBI and now IO, FBI is in no way shape or form needed back, especially now that congress is trying to allow FBI to investigate terror, terror acts are mostly spontaneous, how is FBI going to combat a spontaneous event when they have no vehicles, no weapons and no team? FBI always has and always will try to overreach what they are set up for eventually, and by doing this will start to step on IO’s feet causing problems.

Now I ask, why is FBI needed when we already have a functioning IO that works to prosecute criminals, gangs and fight terror?

Didn’t stop them last time though did it?

@DevMartavis How doesn’t it take stuff away from IO, do you not realise IO already investigates terror and corruption? We don’t just do gangs. By trying to limit IO to ‘gangs and stuff’ will cause conflict, conflict between 2 intelligence units/agencies will cause more problems than is needed. I saw it first hand when I was in FBI.

So I ask again, why is FBI needed when we already have IO; IO doesn’t just investigate gangs, we investigate terror and corruption. Not only do we investigate terror but we are also on the ground in order to help fight it. FBI won’t be able to do that FBI won’t be able to respond to situations and defend civilians in County. They’re a desk job a desk job that has very few people willing to join that has the experience of forming Interlligence, has the experience to lead and capability to trust its employees enough to keep FBI running.

IO gets the job done, and trying to downgrade them souly to DHS Internal Affairs will not end well, for anybody who relies on IO intel when combating domestic threats to the state.

FBI will just be a DPS 2.0 but with a different name.

The DOJ works perfectly fine without the FBI. Adding it would just cause a hassle to the DOJ, LEOs, and DHS.

bringing it back would be a waste of time a resources

The reason the Intelligence Office works and FBI doesn’t is due to the fact that it takes months or even a year of experience within DHS before you can even pass an application stage.

This ensures only the most experienced and trusted members get access to this classified information. FBI however can effectively allow anyone in the department with little to no trust or experience.

I’m going to explain to you something simple. The FBI has failed, each and every time because of incompetent leadership, lack of power, and honestly no fucking reason to be there. Stop beating the fucking body when it’s already dead, because in months time, they’re going to fuck up, and once they fuck up, they’ll be abolished for the fourth or fifth time.

Let IO do their duties without having to deal with the runt of the liter.
