other than the dpw thing, how do you intend to make obstructon of a public employee more of a deterrent?

Hey Con,
My goal is to meet once a month, or more depending on need, with command staff of the relevant departments, DOT, DPW, ect. With this I plan on relaying their needs to relevant authorities, advocating for more resources to areas where it is very common for them to be obstructed or attacked, going over the current laws and sentences for them with department command and determining what’s effective and what isn’t. My question is going to be what do we need to change about what we’re doing currently to fit the needs of what’s actually happening. Based on information gathered we can amend laws for harsher punishments where needed, get rid of ineffective ones should they present themselves, I am also a very strong advocate for clipping, and recording, I will during my meetings speak with department command about making sure their people understand what us LEOs need to be able to charge when obstruction happens, as I feel there is a large disconnect between these employees and law enforcement not understanding that we cant just arrest someone because they say they obstructed their duties. Ultimately there is no “golden ticket” to just straight up solving this issue, it will require frequent check-ins to understand what issues are taking place, how we are currently responding to them, and keeping everyone on the same page of what needs to be done when it happens.
Hopefully this answers your question, feel free to follow up if you have further!
also I have joined for my not-so-various legal needs.
