Greetings, here I’ll be explaining my rough draft of a plan for the future of the Firestone Peace Officer Standards & Training. If you have any questions, comments, concerns, or suggestions, please feel free to drop them below.
Application & Entry Process
In terms of applications, applications will open on the 28th and 13th of each month, and will close on the 30th and 15th of each month (with the exception of February; months that have 31 days will open on the 29th instead of the 28th), like the old days. Classes will run from the 1st of the month to the 15th of the month, and from the 15th to the end of the month (30th/31st).
Applications will be read and voted on by Instructors, and finalized by the administrative personnel. The standards for disqualifications will be up to the administrative personnel.
Classes & Tiers
There will be a total of 6 tiers. Instructors will be required to host a minimum of 5 sessions of each tier per class. Private classes will be strictly prohibited. Cadets who complete 3 tiers but are unable to finish the remaining 1 or 2 will be allowed to roll into the next class. Cadets who fail to a complete up to 3 tiers will be fail out of that class, they will be allowed to reapply into the academy for another class.
The existing contents of the existing curriculum will be placed under review for the next class.
Graduation & Academy Completion
Final examinations will open 3 days prior to the graduation date, cadets will have the 3 days up to graduation to complete their examinations after they’ve completed all 6 tiers. Cadets will be required to score an 85% or higher to pass the academy. Those who fail the exam with a 60%-84% will be allowed to retake the exam to graduate with their class. Those who fail the class with <60% will be optionally rolled into the next class to retake the tiers, they will not be required to reapply for the academy. Individuals may only be rolled into the next class a total of one time unless otherwise permitted by the Director or Deputy Directors.
I’m open to discussion below.
