People of Firestone Disabilities Act
Preamble: Due to the increase in handicap permit issuance, it is essential that regulations are put in place to outline who may receive a permit, and the way that permits are issued in case someone chooses to abuse power.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE STATE OF FIRESTONE CONGRESS HERE ASSEMBLED THAT:
SECTION 1: Along with their current responsibilities, the Firestone Department of Transportation and the Firestone Department of Health shall be responsible for the issuing, revoking, and management of handicap permits.
SECTION 2: All citizens of the State of Firestone shall be eligible to apply for a handicap permit unless the applicant works in a department position that requires good health as defined by the Firestone Department of Transportation and the Firestone Department of Health.
SECTION 3: The Firestone Department of Transportation and the Firestone Department of Health may revoke handicap permits that violate requirements set by The Firestone Department of Transportation and the Firestone Department of Health. The Firestone Department of Transportation and the Firestone Department of Health shall revoke handicap permits should the Citizen holding the handicap Permit regain good health as defined by The Firestone Department of Transportation and the Firestone Department of Health.
SECTION 4: No Citizen applying or holding a handicap permit shall receive unequal treatment because of their age, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, political affiliation, national origin, or personal matters irrelevant to the handicap permit. No citizen applying or holding a handicap permit is required to reveal their disability to anyone but a licensed physician as defined by the Firestone Department of Health.
SECTION 5: Any Citizen holding a handicap permit shall have the right to be notified if the handicap permit has been revoked or suspended along with the reasoning of why. Any Citizen applying for a handicap permit shall have the right to be notified if the handicap permit was accepted. Any Citizen applying for a handicap permit shall have the right to be notified if the handicap permit has been denied along with the reasoning of why. All notifications defined in this section should be made within 5 days of the issuing, suspension, revocation. All notifications defined in this section are not limited to but can be “Trello”, “Discord”, “Roblox messages”, etc.
SECTION 6: The Firestone Department of Transportation and the Firestone Department of Health shall be responsible for setting equal expiration dates for all active handicap permits.
SECTION 7: The Firestone Department of Transportation and the Firestone Department of Health may grant temporary handicap permits to department employees who have been harmed on duty that do not fall under section 6 and section 2 of this legislation. Expiration dates must still be set for temporary handicap permits and may not be renewed for the same incident.
SECTION 8: The Secretary of the Firestone Department of Transportation and Secretary of the Firestone Department of Health or anyone approved by the Secretary of the Firestone Department of Transportation or Secretary of the Firestone Department of Health shall enforce this legislation.
SECTION 9: Should any part of this legislation be declared unconstitutional or otherwise struck down, the rest shall remain in effect unless all is struck down or declared unconstitutional.
SECTION 10: This shall go into effect immediately after completing the constitutional process required. Upon passage of this legislation, the Department of Transportation and the Department of Health shall have 48 hours to enforce this legislation.
