Open Carry Legislation?

Should a new training program be implemented in which would allow citizens with the special/new permit to open-carry (brandish) a firearm?

Additionally: Should businesses classified as a Security Agency by the Department of Commerce be allowed to brandish a firearm while in a uniform with markings that clearly state “SECURITY”, or if they are otherwise clearly preforming security operations.

refer to the 90 times I’ve told people this is literally just a free way for people to legally kill you and you have no recourse

senate denied our legislation last term about this

I mean yeah I am in support, but the firearm would need to be pointed down and not at people, otherwise it would be considered a threat/menacing. It would need to be a really well written out law.

This was something I spent a solid year trying to do — it was a campaign promise from me when I was a baby rep — and there is genuinely no good way to get it done, whether it’s all citizens or just security guards on private property.

So whenever I see this topic brought up, I merely say: there be dragons.

Il be drafting a bill ab this.

It will be for businesses on private property.

DOCM will be tasked to regulate which companies will be registered as security oriented business and it goes without saying CFLs mandatory

Weapons may not be presented in an outward fashion (must be pointed down)

Also considering standardizing a form of armed security training to be hosted by FFC to clearly define to security related businesses what they can and can’t do within confines of statute

has commerce even been asked about this or are u only saying this to impress fed

Hey, I haven’t been contacted on this. Pls DM me before having DOCM do stuff.

I’m not against this, but I’m also not for it. I’d have to see the facts of the bill and the need of the public before voicing support.

We’re still broken and @FedoraMasterB98 hasn’t DMed me back regarding the solution.

this is a time old tale of an idea that absolutely is undercooked every time and is not reasonable to be implemented within the state

there is a reason this has been shot down in congress every single time

a bill with similar propositions was proposed in the last house term and it never passed for a reason

do not start this open carry shit again, i’ve been through all attempts either while in congress or part of the ffc.

it doesn’t work. it’s never going to work. it gets people killed.

this game is not real life. most of the time gun = bad in this game.

you will have countless people argue for and against this and it will never pass in congress. if it does and is signed, it’s not going to be around for long.

do not start this again.

its a theory and no bill has been actively drafted yet, if it makes it out of the theorization then it would go without saying DOCM( @Clonemep) would have a say in the implementation. No need to accuse me of glazing

Parker, I want you to trust me on this

This was an issue when I was a member of the Senate back in 2018, if 5 years later we still don’t have a solution then we never will have one.

It’s been drafted too many times to count. It’s never worked. It never will work. Just accept the fact that you’ll have to keep your gun in your inventory until someone poses a threat to you.
