Newsletter Information

The Speaker of the House and Speaker pro tempore have decided to create and release a House of Representatives newsletter on a bi-weekly basis, to keep the public informed of on-going House of Representative operations. The newsletter details any sessions, events etc which may have taken place over the course of the past two weeks.

New Term

In this term, the House of Representatives welcome 11 new individuals into the House. Of these individuals, 5/11 were returning members from the previous term with 6 being new to the term! We are excited to see what all 11 individuals have to offer in creating and maintaining our legislation and look forward to what they will be able to accomplish.

Speaker of the House Election

To add to the new term, we welcome in our returning Speaker of the House L_3ee! We believe that L_3ee will lead the House to success and be here to help all knew Congresspeople in their journey through the House. We are ready for an exciting term with him.

Speaker pro tempore Election

Following the election of L_3ee as Speaker of the House, an election for Speaker pro tempore was hosted. A total of 4 candidates (EndocryneIndex, ConfussIed, SveetChloe, CanadlanLaw) ran for the position, in the end there was 1 holding a clear majority of votes. Said candidate being Representative SveetChloe who has now been appointed as Speaker pro tempore of the House of Representatives.

Session (#1)

On Sunday the 7th of May, the House of Representatives hosted their first session of the term. During the session, the following pieces of legislation were voted on: National Guard Deployment Amendment 2023, Deployed Forces Employment Rights Act, An Act to Fix a Reference to the DOA. All pieces of legislation passed voting, please review our soon to be created docket published by the Clerk for further details regarding votes etc.

House of Representatives Meet & Greet

On Sunday the 7th of May, the House of Representatives hosted a public Meet & Greet event at the State Capitol. The Department of Transport provided transportation from Redwood CD to the State Capitol for members of public. Said event gave members of the public the chance to interact and talk with our Representatives, ask them any questions they may have etc. Overall, the event was a success and we’re happy to have hosted it.
