Responsibilities: As the Press Secretary, you will play a crucial role in managing communications between the District Affairs office and the public. Your responsibilities will include:
- Media Relations: Build and maintain positive relationships with local and national media outlets. Respond to media inquiries and coordinate interviews with key district officials.
- Press Releases: Draft, edit, and distribute press releases to communicate important district announcements, policy updates, and initiatives effectively.
- Speechwriting: Collaborate with district officials to develop speeches and statements for public appearances, ensuring consistency in messaging and tone.
- Social Media Management: Oversee the district’s social media presence, crafting engaging content to keep the community informed and engaged.
- Public Outreach: Organize and coordinate public events, town halls, and other outreach programs to enhance public engagement and understanding of district policies.
Requirements:
- Experienced in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Press Secretary or in a similar role.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with social media platforms and digital communication tools.
- Excellent interpersonal and networking skills.
