Title: Air Navigation Systems Technician

Description: The Air Navigation Systems Technician is a position under the FAA Office of Air Traffic Operations responsible for maintaining airspace mapping and navigation charts published and maintained by the administration. The Air Navigation Systems Technician will consistently update the navigation sectional charts and ensure all official FAA charts and maps are current and correct.

  • Rotary Pilots License to assist in aerial surveying (Not required)

Employment Requirements
To be considered for this position, an applicant must;

  • Not have extensive criminal history and meet FAA Employment requirements pertaining to criminal history.
  • Not have been previously terminated from the FAA or dismissed from the FAA ATO for reasons considered dishonorable.
  • Possess a good reputation within the community.
  • Be competent in the use of graphic design systems including but not limited to Canva, Paint net, etc.
  • Be competent in the meaning of aeronautical chart symbols and meanings.
  • Be capable of maintaining mapping and charts with a consistently changing environment and physical map.
  • Meet all other employment eligibility requirements stated within the FAA Handbook.

Further expectations of this role may arise later on as this position is new and its respective responsibilities are not yet fully developed.
