Thank you for your concern. I guarantee my full activity (the type that was putting in record numbers of cases handled while I was on the bench). Lessened activity towards the end of my tenure on the bench was due to burnout with the judiciary specifically after a year and a half of faithful service that every judge experiences (I’m sure Float would attest to this as well), and it never once interfered with the completion of my duties. I wouldn’t be running if I wasn’t ready and willing, I promise that.

Further, as a Lieutenant Governor, the Senate is a big priority in my mind, especially with our plans largely consisting of legislative reform. We’ve had too many Lieutenant Governors take a back seat in their roles in the Senate, and it has for my entire career been my position that the Lieutenant Governor needs to be someone who can manage the Senate very well.

Orders like EO55 only work if departments like DPS and executive agencies have structures which can efficiently punish offenders. If DPS is not functioning and if executive departments continue to be litigated against when enforcing their policies, accountability cannot happen.

DPS needs to be fixed before EO55 is touched at all. I couldn’t tell you specifics of what a revision would or wouldn’t be as the concern right now is DPS. If you want to discuss this further in DMs I’m happy to do that
