Firestone Park Service

What do you guys think of the Firestone Park Service?
I personally think it’s a good addition to firestone.
I think it has a good future if it doesn’t end up inactive.
The department is primary, so that could turn people down from applying/joining.
I hope they are rather close to the public and plan PR events and hikes, etc.
I personally have a lot of ideas for the Firestone Park Service.

What do you guys think?

Its primary? I thought it was going to be secondary so it has more members…

Yes, I agree that if the department would be considered a “secondary”, then there would be more people applying for it. Take the National Guards as an example. I see them standing guard for a long time, rather then having constant action. Since they are voluntary. they have more slots open for other jobs. Now, Park rangers on the other hand, who also guard a specific area. It would be wise to do the same, make it a secondary department.

Overall, I would expect it’s member count to grow at first, but then decrease as time passes.

Fed put in the group desc that it’s primary now but may change. It was secondary back when it was called DPR.

the name sucks, but good idea for a department

I will not support a park service that is a primary position (aside from the director of the unit).

We already have a highly competitive job market that is already lacking qualified applicants.

It would be nice to see the park service therefore be voluntary.

Interesting take on such a very new concept, and I support you to an extent.

As promised by Fed, the Firestone Park Service is considered another law enforcement agency, however, its limited in its jurisdiction and actions. FPS is tasked with the defense of the laws in the national park, primarily handling those who are illegally fishing or who have not gained permits to fish within park boundaries.

The job of FPS is a semi-smaller job than SCSO or FSP. They handle basically every single crime in the book and (don’t quote me on this) I believe they’re the only ones able to enforce park regulations(?). Yeah, FPS will be stuck in the state park, but I don’t think making it voluntary is right. FPS should be considered a secondary department apart from the director.

It’s public speculation that FPS is really a handmedown version of FNG assigned to the park, when really it’s more of a waterdown SCSO assigned to the state park only. Plus, FPS is planning much more than enforcing laws, such as public events and running the campsite for public use.

This and much more will all change throughout the next couple of days and weeks as development races towards alpha in the next 28 days. <3

DPR would have been better, in my opinion.

It should of just been what it was named before

I agree, when Marc said FPS, I got a little confused for a second there. The name doesn’t fit, seems more like a concierge service in the park.

i love it

but i will be wholly against any legislation making it primary

might apply there myself if its secondary
