Firestone Department of Fish and Wildlife?

So, I had [what I think is] the best idea ever. In V3, if we do have a fishing system (as Fed has stated before) then we should have some department to issue and keep tabs on fishing licenses. This could also be done for hunting if that existed. Basically, the department would be in charge of issuing fishing licenses, allowing people to fish, and enforcing regulations on fishing and any other things that would be created such as hunting. They could enforce regulations and whatnot, and I just think it would be cool to have something like that around. Tell me what you think about this idea. I personally think it is an amazing idea but, I am also tired and probably high as I am writing this.

Also, don’t listen to tacticalcanadian he tried taking my idea like the big gay he is xd. (http://prntscr.com/mmzufq, http://prntscr.com/mmzui4)

Fed would probably use this and we wouldn’t be able to use either of your names. :frowning: https://www.roblox.com/groups/3783474/Firestone-Department-of-Parks-and-Recreation#!/about

And before someone asks, yes we have to use a group Fed makes.

I feel like that group serves a different purpose. Like the TV show Parks and Recreation, watch that. Fish and Wildlife is more enforcement based.

I can see this being a division/office/whatever contained inside of the Firestone Department of Parks & Recreation (as a rank such as Fish and Wildlife Commission or however you’d want to word it). While the idea is cool, I personally don’t believe it’ll warrant an entire department’s creation out of it. I mean lets be honest here… at the end of the day, how many people are really going to go through the time and effort to apply, wait to receive the license, and then hold off on fishing until then. Also, you’re talking about needing to employee an entire group of people who’s sole job is to walk rivers, creeks, ponds, etc in Stapleton to ensure that no-one is in violation of your policies… we all know how people get on ROBLOX in general. You’d be relying way too much on the idea of that everyone is going to apply and everyone that you hire, assuming that a lot of people are even going to work the job of enforcing said regulations in-game, will remain active enough and stay in-game long enough without getting bored to actually do any kind of enforcement.

Not trying to discredit your idea by any stretch of the imagination, but I just don’t see how this could benefit anyone involved - the employees, the State, or the citizens.

The main idea behind it is realism. Think in reality, you have to have licenses to hunt, fish, etc. This would be just like that.

I definitely agree with you to say that it would add another element of realism to the game. However, you also have to remember that at the end of the day this is a game in a virtual environment, therefore you’re going to be reliant upon the idea that you’re not the only one that would do this and based off what this forum is showing you basically are the only one in support of this particular method of implementing it. I’m not going to pretend that I know everything that’s going into V3, matter of fact if we’re being honest I have absolutely no clue about much of anything about V3, but I feel like once you start adding in scripts for licenses, animals/fish to hunt/fish, another team and set of vehicles and other materials to assist your “rangers” (or whatever you’d call them) in performing their job, etc.

As I said before if we’re going to try and implement something like this I personally do believe that it’ll make more sense under the Parks % Recreation Department somehow than trying to give it it’s own department and all the things it’ll require to run an entire department.

Now, I tend to think on terms of what’s practical vs whats cool and realistic. I know not everyone thinks like that, chances are not a lot of people in a state like Firestone that attempts to prioritize realization over anything else think like that, but it’s difficult for me for take something like this and see it’s value in it. As someone said earlier it’ll just turn into another Boating & Waterways department. Cool idea and concept but it’ll serve no value to the State other than another sense of realism assuming that people will even fish and hunt enough to want to get licensed.

Still, not trying to discredit your idea at all as it is a good concept, I’m just simply sharing my personal opinion.

Fishing in Firestone shouldn’t require a license, that’s ridiculous. More needs to be done for the tourists and citizens, not to give the government more power.

No one said the license had to be difficult to obtain. It could be as simple as you buy one from your local sporting goods store. Kind of similar to how it is in reality. Considering you would have to buy a fishing rod anyways, how hard could it be to have to pick up a license while you are there.
