Duskmsg for Senate

Hola compañeros amigos! And Hello fellow citizens!

I am Duskmsg and today I will be stepping before you as not only a candidate for this month’s senate elections but as a fellow face in a crowd of many intelligent people this community has to offer, from all backgrounds. Below will be a segmented layout of why I believe you should trust me to be a solid voice in this government.

I. Understanding for the misunderstood.

As someone in this community that has been exposed to many things in this judicial system, not necessarily by working in it as a lawyer or as a judiciary but as a law enforcement officer and a witness to cases with other citizens.
Typically at almost a daily basis now many citizens within Stapleton County get removed of their liberties by a peace officer that does not take their side of the story even with witness support in the process. At the bare minimum to make an arrest it is well known that an officer requires probable cause. On numerous occasions peace officers take this for granted and simply use reasonable suspicion with barely enough evidence to suffice for a legal arrest. There are many unsolved, or let’s say this in a less cheesy way, there are tons upon tons of false arrests that have already been processed through our databases. Quite frankly, those victim to these even with some citations or previous records on them do not even get to have a second chance at something they want to do, not only because it’s a done sealed deal once the arrest button is pressed for them and the courts are unable to provide any timely expungement for them or even any opportunity for them in the first place because the system is not as easy as 1, 2, 3 for them to access or comprehend.
As a citizen that has personally been falsely arrested in the past, primarily due to a misunderstanding and or a game error, I still have not managed to get this one record taken off my steady behavior sheet. Why? This is because of a cluttered up and occasionally mismanaged justice department. Founders have been contacted and so have those in the department of justice, including a past case to be filed. Yet no responses, no help, no understanding. That one arrest could have ruined my chance at ever getting a job in the state and keeping any positions I had at the time. Fortunately I have understanding leadership in all of the departments I have been in so far to keep me safe.
People in places of power should be the ones that are able to help you, face to face if need be. Ignoring the cries of citizens that have been misunderstood or are willingly wanting to change is wrongful and hypocritical. My goals and intentions are to help, I am going to ensure to help our citizens and the wrongfully accused get justice regardless of their past or present. Not by pointing fingers like those I’ve encountered without even hearing the full platter. The justice system will have renovations and they WILL be proper.

II. Giving bills a proper look, and those proposing them a chance to speak.

Moving forward with my plans on reviewing bills, that happens to be quite basic in a way actually. Many senators have misunderstood each other during senate sessions in the past. This minor issue unfortunately resulted into things like very important bills being introduced and then getting struck down because a couple senators jumped on either a bandwagon or misunderstood the introducers main point. Those that get to have the floor on sessions are also very important. It shouldn’t only be senators speaking. They are there to hear the voices of the people and relay their information to other citizens by implementing bills the right way.

I will not have any form of bias towards bills in any way, even if I do not fully support them, but if they have proven points that are important to others of the state not only including me but those that are primarily affected. Debates will continue for as long as need be during sessions if I will be present, revisions will be done. Skimming documents to pass time and to get boring but quite majorly important bills off a docket just cause shouldn’t fly, and I will enforce that with my morals and mindset towards a good functioning government within Firestone. People should be allowed to speak during sessions and not silenced, even if those in the chairs believe the information is irrelevant. People deserve closure for their bills even if it might be bad, so they can come back with a better proposition. I truly believe that some bills to this day could have passed if an opportunity was granted for the proposer to fully once again explain their thoughts to be voted upon. Nay’s could have been turned to Aye’s and I agree that the stream of denial should be brought to a stop.

III. Working together not as multiple minds but as a unified mind.

As someone who has seen the in’s and out’s of departments, I believe we tend to have a common gap of understanding one another. Reason being there are a lot of disagreements over things that we might not have experienced. It is very unfair to others who have been in situations of them being ignored or denied mainly due to the other from another department not clearly getting the objective at hand. Common misconceptions between law enforcement agencies, or almost any department in this community is that one is better than the other in some certain factor. Either it be training, regulations, etc. The truth is no one is truly better than the other, we operate all as equals. There is a fine line between fun competitiveness and outright heavy disputes for little good reason. Truth is if we target a group of people and call them out on something small, they will come back with something bigger eventually, and it becomes a hellish chain of department attacks on one another due to misunderstanding and poorly built regulations made by who? That’s right, the senate! If I can work together with people of all departments properly and see things from their point of view with no bias, people are happy, people get what they want and what they need. Boom, we have countless upon countless numbers of bills that were successful and fair to those of all nature, why? Because there was something done about it, the voices were indeed heard. That is my plan and I will stick to it. If I can hear somebody out and come to a compromise, so can many others within the senate. Legislation isn’t a few groups of minds, its tons of them.

IV. My past, my present, my future.

To wrap up the main intentions of my campaign for senate, I shall last but not least include all my past jobs in the State of Firestone that I believe should show me to be a competent candidate in chronological order from when I became a citizen until now.
