First off, let me say NOTHING in here is bias, as I have been in both Law Enforcement and the Fire Department in the State of Firestone.
Hi, i’m Paramedic Andrew_Aviate, callsign 1FDP47, serving the Stapleton County Fire Department since October, but served previously from August to November 2016. Now, it seems paramedics have an easy job because we treat so quickly sometimes or “we don’t get called often” which is a lie. The Paramedics in the Stapleton County Fire Department have an extremely, EXTREMELY stressful job. The Fire Department is understaffed medically wise. We have 14 paramedics and some dual cert firefighters. About 80% of our department is not medically certified. Now, take into the count that most the time only one or two of us are on. With nonstop calls, we are struggling to handle the demand with the rise in population. We do medical runs back to back, call after call. And though we do get help from Law Enforcement, to be the honest most officers know nothing medical and think they have a whole hospital in their trunk, which is false. And a little something about procedures. I saw someone comment on a previous post, saying that Law Enforcement is more difficult because they have the memorize more procedures and laws. First off, let me say that you need to study, because you are failing common sense. The Paramedics in the State of Firestone have to study about a 30 page handbook, all consisting of real world procedures. We have to memorize medicines, dosage amounts, and EVEN MORE procedures than Law Enforcement. We are at a constant demand for paramedics, but we’re understaffed, getting back to back calls. So please turn on your brains and get some common sense. I have one last thing to say and that is this, you try our job. It may be roleplay, but it’s stressful as hell.
