Hello there my fellow citizens of the Great and Glorious State of Firestone. I am asking for your support for my candidacy in the Senate special elections, to represent you.
I am currently:
- The Clerk of the Senate, which gives me unique insight on the legislative process and prior experience with the Senate and Senators.
- The Solicitor General (And of course a bar-certified attorney), which has given me lots of experience in regards to legal practice, and the law overall, where I have focused on protecting civil rights.
- The State Archivist, in which I’m working on a project to make the law more accessible to the public, somewhat of a continuation of the Easy-Access Legislation Project.
Which has given me plenty of relevant experience to the legislative process and our more administrative departments. I would be glad to hear from other public employees what issues they see and what change they might want, or what should stay the same.
I don’t have any specific laws written out or planned, and I’m not going to make some grandiose promise to be the best Senator since 2016, but I will do my best to be receptive to what you, the citizens, want, keeping in mind the Constitution and Bill of Rights. I have seen some of the plans that other candidates have put forth, and I will also try to work with other Senators in order to get these done in a timely manner— if we want to do good things for the people, we need to actually get them done. I would like to focus on our foreign affairs— we’ve come very far and the Senate is an important part of that, and I hope that this Ridgeway affair won’t majorly jeopardize our relations with other States. As a Senator, it is my (And the rest of the Senate’s) prerogative to ensure that the necessary and appropriate action is taken, to bring a swift end to this situation, and hopefully we can manage to bring back peaceful and beneficial relations with Ridgeway. I will also focus on adapting our State to the changing times— V3 has, of course, been a long time coming, and may not come in my term, but it is my hope that we can at least do some good for this State as its demographics, and the interests of its citizens, seem to shift.
