Inter-Department Relations

September 30, 2018
Office of the Secretary

The Sheriff of the Stapleton County Sheriff’s Office and the Superintendent of the Firestone State Patrol met today with the Secretary of Commerce to discuss relations between the Department of Commerce and the respective Law Enforcement Agencies. Many of the topics covered included illegal business operations as well as future guidelines for security-related businesses. Whilst the meeting was in detail, a contract awaits to be drafted and signed by all three parties in order for the law enforcement agencies to move forward with their enforcement. A more detailed report will be released upon the closure of the talks that affects the State as a whole.

Shortly afterwards, the Secretary of Transportation and the High Command of the Department of Transportation met with the Secretary of Commerce to discuss ride-share regulations and current issues within the State. They have been assured that talks are in place with Law Enforcement Agencies to handle illegal business operations, such as the Redwood Taxi. Further talks were made discussing the eligibility of ride-share businesses as well as the whole approval process. A more detailed report will be released upon the closure of the talks that will affect all ride-share related businesses.

Further meetings will be scheduled with the respective department heads in order to ensure Commerce has established appropriate guidelines for businesses that cross paths with departments. After the completion of the Commerce staff construction, the ball will begin to roll and Commerce will officially be in full effect. None of the talks are closed until the staff convenes and agrees. We look forward to a bright future.

Signed,
