Charter Amendment to Fix MD Nullification

BE IT ENACTED BY THE DISTRICT OF PROMINENCE COUNCIL HERE ASSEMBLED THAT,
SECTION 1
Article III, Section 6 of the Prominence District Charter currently states:
“The Mayor has the sole ability to create and manage Mayoral Decrees. Mayoral Decrees shall carry the full force of the law and shall be restricted to be directed to entities within the Executive Branch and the Executive Branch as a whole. The Mayor has the sole ability to amend and/or nullify an existing Mayoral Decree. Mayoral Decrees shall be considered official law of the District of Prominence upon the signature of the Mayor and shall require the signature of the Mayor to be considered as such. The Deputy Mayor may co-sign Mayoral Decrees, but does not hold the ability to create, amend or nullify any Mayoral Decree or section(s) thereof. Mayoral Decrees shall be required to follow all superior law, including the Constitution of the State of Firestone, the Bill of Rights of the State of Firestone, the Charter of Stapleton County, this District Charter and any laws of the State of Firestone, Stapleton County and District of Prominence. The District Council has the ability to nullify a Mayoral Decree or section(s) of a Mayoral Decree through a super-majority (4⁄5) vote.”
SECTION 2
Article III, Section 6 of the Prominence District Charter shall be amended to state,

SECTION 3
This District Ordinance shall go into effect immediately upon passing the legal processes as described by the District Charter.
