An Amendment to Prevent Double Time | 2

SECTION I: PURPOSE/AMENDMENTS

(a): The purpose of this bill is to prevent a loophole that current Law Enforcement Officers that have the ability to charge an individual with a crime; will no longer be able to charge an individual for a crime committed prior to an arrest. It is the Law Enforcement Officers duties to verify any additional charges during an arrest, and this bill will also prevent an individual from serving a sentence 2+ times for separate charges. It is the duty of Law Enforcement Officers to ensure all charges are accurate

(b) This legislation shall be known as “An Amendment To Prevent Double Time”

SECTION II AMENDMENTS

(a) Section 3 subsection 3d, 3d.1 the “An Act to Simplify False Arrest and False Citation” is hereby established

(b) Section 3 subsection 3d shall state "Law enforcement officers shall not imprison an individual for crimes that were committed before the first/initial arrest; if the individual has already spent time within the State’s Penitentiary he or she shall not be held accountable for past crimes predating the initial arrest. Furthermore, once an individual is imprisoned all prior crimes against the State Of Firestone shall be deemed null or void. This sections shall not apply to past, present or future search/arrest warrants or court cases within the district court”

3d.1 shall state Should an individual have an Active Warrant for a crime during the time of the arrest this section shall not apply;”

SECTION III DEFINITIONS

(a) “An Act to Simplify False Arrest and False Citation” shall be defined as

SECTION IV: ENFORCEMENTS

(a) This legislation, upon passage within both chambers and met with the signature of the incumbent State of Firestone Governor, shall take immediate effect.
