An Amendment to Permit Officers to Maintain Order

THE STATE OF FIRESTONE LEGISLATURE DOES HERE NOW DECLARE THAT:

Section 1: This document shall be regarded as an amendment to the constitution and shall be known as “An Amendment to Permit Officers to Maintain Order”.

Section 2: This document shall go into effect upon being ratified pursuant to the constitution and laws of this state.

Section 3: § XXII shall be added to Article I of the constitution and shall read as follows:

“(a) The Presiding Officer of each legislative House shall be permitted to maintain the order and decorum of each house whilst the chamber they are presiding over is in session. Furthermore, the Presiding Officer of each legislative house shall be empowered, without motion or the approval of the house they are presiding over, remove all persons (who not being members of the legislative house that is in session) that cause disruption to or hinder the decorum of the session from that session.

(b) The Presiding Officer of each house may delegate these duties to any law enforcement officer - however he may overrule any action undertaken by that officer under such delegation.

(c) The legislative houses may independently overrule the actions of the Presiding Officer or any law enforcement officer delegated powers under this section upon the concurrence of a supermajority of the present members.”
