An Amendment to Correct Senate Confirmations

An Amendment to Correct Senate Confirmations

BE IT ENACTED BY THE STATE OF FIRESTONE CONGRESS HERE ASSEMBLED THAT:

PREAMBLE

To uphold the integrity in which the State of Firestone Senate functions, this amendment shall provide a clear transition in the way we vote at senate nomination hearings. This amendment shall restrict voting through the means of trello or discord, forcing all senate nominations to be heard in-game, at the state capitol, whether that be in county, or in the state capitol game.

SECTION 1

C.I.XVI of the Firestone Constitution currently states, β€œThe Senate shall be willing to give time to hear, and understand, the nominations of the Governor, and choose whether to confirm or not, by a simple-majority, the nominee.”

SECTION 2.

C.I.XVI of the Firestone Constitution shall now state, "The Senate shall be willing to give time to hear, and understand, the nominations of the Governor, and choose whether to confirm or not, by a simple-majority, the nominee. The voting process in which Senate confirmations are conducted shall not be done via the use of trello or discord, and must be held at the State-Capitol in-game, unless the nominee meets the following conditions: the nominee has not been able to attend a Senate session within the past fourteen(14) days, a cabinet nominee has been unable to attend a Senate session within seven(7) days of the Governor posting their cabinet nomination, the Senate has not reached quorum within fourteen(14) days, or the nomination is presented to the Senate within five(5) days of a holiday recognized by the President of the Senate.”

SECTION 3.

This legislation shall go into effect after following the Constitutional procedure required.

Respectfully submitted to the Senate of the State of Firestone,
