An Amendment to C.II.VI

SECTION 1: C.II.VI shall be amended.

SECTION 2: C.II.VI shall now state: The Governor and Lieutenant Governor may, upon entering office, optionally, take the following oath or affirmation, administered by the Chief Court Justice: “I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the State of Firestone against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter.” Should the Chief Court Justice be unable to deliver the oath or affirmation, the most senior Associate Justice shall administer such oath or affirmation.
