An Amendment to A Bill to Establish Prisoner Rights

PREAMBLE: Inmates, regardless of what crime(s) they committed, are human beings who not only need food & water. Prisoners, amongst their rights, should be allowed to experience natural light and air.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE STATE OF FIRESTONE CONGRESS* HERE ASSEMBLED THAT:

SECTION 1: Section II of A Bill to Establish Prisoner Rights currently states: “All prisoners shall be free from cruel and unjust punishment, have shelter from the elements, access to adequate food and water, be able to voice their concerns, and use their BOR.I rights. All prisoners shall also be able to access health care if needed, which shall be provided by the Department of Health, and Stapleton County Fire Department. The StapIeton County Fire Department will use an ambulance to transport an inmate to the hospital if the inmate has life-threatening injuries.”

SECTION 2: Section II of A Bill to Establish Prisoner Rights shall now state: "All prisoners shall be free from cruel and unjust punishment, have shelter from the elements, access to adequate food and water, be able to voice their concerns, and use their BOR.I rights. All prisoners shall also be able to access health care if needed, which shall be provided by the Department of Health, and Stapleton County Fire Department. The Stapleton County Fire Department will use an ambulance to transport an inmate to the hospital if the inmate has life-threatening injuries. All prisoners shall be able to access the prison courtyard to obtain natural light and air, in accordance with the Firestone Department of Corrections prison policy(s).

SECTION 3: This legislation shall go into effect immediately upon passage.
