An Act to Make Provision for Clear and Consistent Regulations in relation to Classified Materials
Preamble: The State has no guidance on how classified material should be presented, leaving it down to departments, whose procedures can vary. This amendment makes for the provision of uniform standards to make classified materials easily identifiable and accountable.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE STATE OF FIRESTONE CONGRESS HERE ASSEMBLED THAT:
SECTION 1: “An Act for the Betterment of Classification” shall be amended.
SECTION 2: The current Section 9 shall become Section 10, and the current Section 8 shall become Section 9.
SECTION 3: A new Section 8 shall be created and state:
“The Attorney General shall be empowered to create legally binding regulations and guidance on how classified information is presented and/or stored, in addition to any other guidance pertaining to classified information they see fit. Such regulations and guidance must be publicly available, however some particularly sensitive parts may be omitted if they meet the standards set in Section 4 of this Act, and the Attorney General, Deputy Attorney General (unless this position is vacant), and the Governor (or in the event of absence, vacancy, or inactivity, the Lieutenant Governor) all believe it is in the best interests of the State to do so. Such regulations and guidance may only go into effect upon the advice and consent of the Governor (or in the event of absence, vacancy, or inactivity, the Lieutenant Governor).”
SECTION 4: This act shall go into effect immediately upon completion of the required constitutional process.
SECTION 5: Should any part of this Act be declared unconstitutional or otherwise struck down, the rest shall remain in effect unless all of it is struck down or declared unconstitutional.
