An Act to Fix a Number of Flaws in the Traffic Act

AN ACT TO FIX A NUMBER OF FLAWS IN THE TRAFFIC ACT

Proposed by: Senator Automationeer


         Be it enacted by the State of Firestone Congress here assembled,

§ 1. TITLE

    (a) This Act shall be known as, and is to be cited as, the “Act to Fix a Number of Flaws in the Traffic Act”.


§ 2. ENACTMENT

    (a) This Bill shall go into effect as an Act of Congress upon the completion of the constitutionally required processes.


§ 3. SEVERABILITY

    (a) Should any part of this Act be stuck down and/or declared unenforceable, then that part shall be severed with the rest remaining in full force and effect unless all is struck down and/or declared unenforceable.


§ 4. DEFINITIONS

    (a) For the purposes of this Act, ‘Firestone Traffic Act’ shall be defined as: https://forums.stateoffirestone.com/t/11542


§ 5. AMENDMENTS

    (a) Chapter 2, Section 5(1) of the Firestone Traffic Act shall be amended.

         (i) Chapter 2, Section 5(1) of the Firestone Traffic Act currently states: “‘Hindering’ shall be an illegal infraction in Firestone. Hindering shall be defined as: “going at or less than 20s/s lower than the posted speed limit unless a traffic situation requires it”.”

         (ii) Chapter 2, Section 5(1) of the Firestone Traffic Act shall be amended to state: “‘Hindering’ shall be an illegal infraction in Firestone. Hindering shall be defined as: “going at or more than 20s/s lower than the posted speed limit unless a traffic situation requires it”.”

    (b) Chapter 1, Section 15(1) of the Firestone Traffic Act shall be amended.

         (i) Chapter 1, Section 15(1) of the Firestone Traffic Act currently states: “‘Tailgating’ shall be an illegal infraction in Firestone. Tailgating shall be defined as: “driving/operating a bicycle too close to another vehicle/bicycle ahead”.”

         (ii) Chapter 1, Section 15(1) of the Firestone Traffic Act shall be amended to state: “‘Tailgating’ shall be an illegal infraction in Firestone. Tailgating shall be defined as: “driving a vehicle too close to another vehicle ahead”.”

    (c) Chapter 2, Section 6(2) of the Firestone Traffic Act shall be amended.

         (i) Chapter 2, Section 6(2) of the Firestone Traffic Act currently states: “‘Conducted correctly’ shall include failure to turn from the appropriate lane (right-hand lane for right turns, left-hand lane for left turns (unless specified differently by road signs/markings)) or any other improper turn or lane change which, to a reasonable person, would be considered improper or dangerous.”

         (ii) Chapter 2, Section 6(2) of the Firestone Traffic Act shall be amended to state: “‘Not conducted correctly’ shall include failure to turn from the appropriate lane (right-hand lane for right turns, left-hand lane for left turns (unless specified differently by road signs/markings)) or any other improper turn or lane change which, to a reasonable person, would be considered improper or dangerous. A turn need not end in the same lane from which the turn was initiated unless road signs or markings or a multi-lane turn requires such.
