An Act to define time periods.


Be it resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the State of Firestone in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE

This bill may be known as “An Act to Define Time”.

SEC. 2. EFFECTIVENESS

This Act shall be effective upon completion of the constitutionally required process.

SEC. 3. SEVERABILITY

Should any part of this Act be struck down or declared unenforceable, then that part of the Act shall be considered severed from this Act, and the rest shall remain in full force.

SEC. 4. DEFINITIONS

(a) Except as explicitly provided, the term—

  (1) “calendar year” means the period from January 1st through December 31st;

  (2) “year”, as a length of time, means the time until the relevant date in the next calendar year;

  (3) “calendar month” means the period from the first day through the last day of a month;

  (4) “month”, as a length of time, means the time until the relevant numerical day in the next calendar month, except if the next calendar month has less days, in which case it shall be until the last day of the next calendar month;

  (5) “calendar day” means the period from 00:00 through 23:59; and

  (6) “day”, as a length of time, means the following 24 hours.

(b) Except as explicitly provided, time shall be in reference to the Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) timezone.
