Major problems with DPS:
They can’t differ investigations from conflicting situations. To launch an investigation, there needs to be something to INVESTIGATE. If there is solid proof or somebody admits to something, the department high command should deal with it as there is NOTHING to investigate. If DPS is investigating bias, favoritism, corruption, or bribery – that is fair.
DPS also likes to hide things behind the back of department administrations and then let them know as soon as they apply consequence.

Add that their “Chief Investigator” causes conflicts with numerous employees of affiliated departments.

DPS should only have any authority during a SoE and the only thing they can do is say, “FSP patrol in this area, and SCSO patrol in this area.”
