A Petition to recognize Vehicular Homicide & Vehicular Manslaughter & Unintentional Vehicular Assault

Section 1: This petition shall recognize Vehicular Homicide, Vehicular Manslaughter, and Unintentional Vehicular Assault as a crime and redefine Vehicular Assault

Section 1A: A Bill To Estabish Vehicular Assault shall be declared nullified by this petition(A Bill to Establish Vehicular Assault Laws)

Section 2: Vehicular Homicide shall be defined as: the striking of a pedestrian or vehicle while manually operating a car that lead to the death of the victim(s). The driver must have malice attempt to do this in order to arrest for vehicular homicide. Vehicular Homicide shall be declared a felony The punishment of this crime shall be stated in section 2E of this petition.

Section 2A: Vehicular Manslaughter shall be defined as: the striking of a pedestrian or vehicle while manually operating a car that lead to the death of the victim(s). The driver had no malice attempt or premeditation but did indeed kill someone by the use of a car. Vehicular Manslaughter shall be declared a felony The punishment of this crime shall be stated in section 2F of this petition.

Section 2B: Unintentional Vehicular Assault shall be defined as: the striking of a pedestrian, or vehicle while manually operating a car that lead to the injury of the victim(s) The driver had no intention to do this but did indeed commit the action of striking a pedestrian, vehicle, or buildings. Unintentional Vehicular Assault shall be declared a misdomeanor. The punishment of this crime shall be stated in section 2G of this petition

Section 2C: Vehicular Battery shall be defined as: The striking of a pedestrian or vehicle while manually operating a car that lead to the injury of the victim(s). The driver had malice attempt to commit this crime but no premeditation. Vehicular Battery shall be declared a felony. The punishment of this crime shall be stated in section 2H of this petition

Section 2D: Vehicular Assault shall be defined as: The striking of a pedestrian or vehicle while manually operating a car that lead to the injury of the victim(s). The driver had malice attempt and premeditation to commit this crime. Vehicular Assault shall be declared a felony. The punishment of this crime shall be stated in section 2I of this petition

Section 2E: Being charged with Vehicular Homicide shall result in a prison time of no less than 600 and up to 900

Section 2F: Being charged with Vehicular Manslaughter shall result in a prison time of no less than 400 and no higher than 700.

Section 2G: Being charged with Unintentional Vehicular Assault shall result in a citation of no less than 400 and no higher than 900

Section 2H: Being charged with Vehicular Battery shall result in a prison time of no less than 300 and no higher than 600

Section 2I: Being charged with Vehicular Assault shall result in a prison time of no less than 400 and no higher than 700

Section 3: The State of Firestone Courts shall oversee this petition, and the Firestone State Patrol, Stapleton County Sherrifs Office, Department of Homeland Security, and the Department of Corrections shall enforce this petition.

Vehicular homicide wouldn’t pass as there’s no way to actually kill someone with a vehicle in Stapleton unless someone RP’s it.

We already have vehicular assault (which in this state is the generic term for striking someone with a vehicle) bud, maybe before trying to right the law you should learn it.

Also just communicate with your law makers on getting bills into congress. Not sure why you have to petition it…

The thing is, sometimes people will for example hit a pedestrian by accident. They would automatically get a felony charge of vehicular assault and that would screw their career in firestone if they were hoping to become in POST, for example.

The fix for this would be to include Vehicular Assault, Vehicular Battery, and unintentional vehicular assault

Or, we could not create three useless charges. And btw, almost any department will fire you for any arrest.

not all departments, most do, but some like dot don’t

DoT will fire you if you get arrested. We have a strict no-arrest policy.
